[Name] II

Going Home

Author's Note: This story takes place after the Going Home ending of [Name].  Hope you guys all enjoy! (Needless to say, Rufus is no longer a result)

No one knew what to do next.  Most of the police force had left the island in search for the other islands that had been under Rufus' control.  Fortunately, Auron, Leon, and Fang had chosen to stay behind and watch over Destiny Islands.  The police had left on gummi ships a few weeks after you had gotten out of the hospital.  Kairi and you were subjected to long interviews on how Rufus' serum affected people and how it could be stopped.  Of course, Kairi had to stay longer than you did because she actually figured out the way to break the serum's control.  You, on the other hand, were still in the dark about most of things that went on in Rufus' mansion.  For the most part, everyone on the island went back to what they were doing, sans brain-washing serum.

It was the last week before winter vacation.  However, the island was still as sunny as it was when you first got there.  The only difference was that the temperature was just a little chillier.

"[Name]!  You're coming tonight, right?"  Yuffie asked as you both walked out of the training room.  Even though an evil mastermind started the class, the school thought it best to just continue the curriculum until the end of the school year.

"Yeah, I just need to stop by my room first."  Yuffie nodded and bounded ahead of you.

"See ya then!"  She cried back.  After Rufus had been stopped, all of your friends decided to start meeting in the sewer that Kairi had taken you to.  It was a lot bigger than the ice cream shop and it didn't remind you of the dangerous serum. 

You made it to your dorm room, dropped off your school bag, and changed out of the awful uniform. 

"Seriously, why do they still make us where this stupid thing." 

You walked through the forest as the sun began to sank.  Now that winter was here, it was getting darker earlier and earlier.  You reached the sewer lid and lifted it up.  As you climbed down, you were thankful that Reno, Cid, Cloud, and Leon had installed more lights.  You, Yuffie, Kairi, Namine, and Tifa had spent about a week trying to get rid of the smell down here.  All it took was about a hundred air fresheners.  You approached the room and noticed that you were the last one to arrive.  The room also had some renovations.  More furniture had been brought in to accommodate everyone.  Now there was an assortment of different kinds of couches and chairs.

"[Name]!  Glad you could make it," Axel smirked as you walked in.  You greeted everyone and sat down on a couch in between Riku and Sora.

"Did I miss anything?"  You asked the group. 

"We were just wonderin' 'bout what was happenin' on the other islands," Cid spoke up.  Auron nodded.

"It's been some time since we've heard back from the teams that were sent out," Auron frowned.

"Well, maybe they landed on the islands already and lost connection or are busy or something," you suggested.  Some people nodded and thought about this. 

"It's not something to worry about... Yet.  If none of the teams communicate with us in two weeks, we'll go see what's going on," Fang said.  With that, the subject changed and everyone talked about what they were going to do over the winter break.

"Hey, we have to tell [Name] about the tradition," Ven said after awhile.  You gave a confused look to everyone.

"What tradition?"

"Every year during winter break, we all go out to a smaller island and go camping," Namine explained.  Vanitas groaned.

"Do we really have to do that?  It's always super lame."

"Yes we have to.  And shut up," Ven said as he sent a glare to Vanitas.

"Besides, [Name]'s never got to do it," Tifa added.  For the next couple hours, you and all your friends talked about school, winter break, and some other topics.  Eventually, everyone decided to head back home before it got too late.  The streetlights lit the sidewalk as everyone walked to their respective homes.  You, Namine, Yuffie, and Kairi ended up walking together to the dorms.

"What do you guys think will happen when all the islands are freed?"  You asked.  Kairi shrugged.

"I don't know.  I guess we'll have to wait and see."

"Maybe all of the islands can form this giant island nation!  We can elect representatives from each island and have a king!  Or better yet, a queen!"  Yuffie cheered.

"But how would we choose who's king or queen?"  Namine giggled.

"That's easy!  [Name] will be the queen, Kairi will be the royal advisor, Namine will be in charge of the royal court, and I will be head of the army!"  Yuffie replied.  Kairi leaned over to you.

"As your royal advisor I think Yuffie being in charge of an army is a little scary," she whispered.  You two tried to stifle your laughs.

"What's so funny?!  Are you two laughing at me?!"  Yuffie cried.  This caused you, Kairi, and Namine to laugh as the hyper ninja pouted.  Soon, you all were inside the dorm building and heading to your separate rooms.  You and Namine were the first to reach your room.  After bidding Yuffie and Kairi goodnight, you both walked in and began to get ready for bed.

You laid in bed and looked over at the clock.  It was 1:45.  You sighed and realized that you've been getting less and less sleep.  Closing your eyes, you tried to quiet the thoughts in your head.  But you couldn't help but think back to what Auron said.  Were the police teams safe on the other islands?  What kind of problems could they be having?  You hoped that they would communicate back soon.  If not, Leon, Auron, and Fang would have to leave and who knows how long they'd be gone.  As you drifted off into sleep, you wished that everything was going according plan.

"But when have things ever gone according to plan?"
