Author's Note: This chapter of the story is going to focus on an OC. It may seem a little out of place but I felt like this was the best way to include some important back story without having to awkwardly try to fit it in in the main story line. There won't really be any mention of anyone from the KH/FF crew but I feel that this chapter contains some important information in order to understand what's happening. Hope you enjoy!!

Adeelah was her name. She had black skin and her hair in braids. Her eyes shone like the stars and she had a personality that drew people in like a lost ships to lighthouse. Phraxos was her home. She had been sent there to attend a prestigious boarding school along with a thousand other students. At the school, she and the other girls were required to take etiquette classes in order to "learn how to be your best self".
"After all, this class may even help you find that person who completes you," her teacher would remind the class.
The person who completes you. Your better half. The one who makes you whole. That's all anyone ever seemed to talk about on the island. It was almost as if your life was incomplete if you weren't in a relationship.
A few months later, Adeelah met Moe, a boy with an easy laugh. It only was a matter of time before they started dating. Soon, Adeelah became known as "Moe's girlfriend". And she was happy with that.
Moe had an adventurous spirit. He would often drag Adeelah out of bed so they could both walk under the stars and explore the island at night. Not that she minded, Adeelah was happy to spend time with him. Whenever they weren't together, she felt like she was missing something, like there was an empty space that longed to be filled. It was only around Moe did she feel that emptiness slip away. She felt complete around him.
One night, Moe called Adeelah outside once the sun had gone down. He wanted to explore more of the thick forest, telling her that he just knows something interesting must be in it. It was a few hours before dusk when they finally found something. Something important. At first, the couple wasn't sure exactly what they found. After a bit of snooping, they discovered that they stumbled across some sort of laboratory. From the outside, it had looked abandoned. Once inside, however, they found that all the lights and equipment were fully functional.
"C'mon, let's check this place out," Moe said as he strolled down the hallway. Adeelah hurried beside him and took hold of his elbow. The two of them snuck around corners and stuck to the shadows. Eventually, they came across an open door. Faint voices could be heard inside, so Moe and Adeelah stood side by side, eavesdropping on the conversation.
"Yeah, the boss said that he thinks some chick is onto his plan."
"So want does he want us to do?"
"Just continue what we're doing, make sure the Lifestream stays up and the islanders stay under it's control." Adeelah furrowed her eyebrows. What the hell were they talking about?
"You know, the boss kinda has the same taste as a teenage girl. I mean, who else would be so preoccupied with making all these islands just like rom-coms?"
"Don't let anyone else hear you say that, you know how loyal to the boss some of these guys are." Adeelah took a step back, whatever these guys were talking about, she didn't want to be a part of it. Unfortunately, the lab must've needed repairs, because the tile that she stepped on let out a loud creeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaak.
"Who's there?!" Cried one of the men. Before she could think, her arms were being held down in an iron-like grip.
"Run, Moe!" Adeelah shouted.
And he did.
And he never looked back.
Adeelah's new home became a metal containment cell. She was fed the minimal amount of food to keep her alive and she was questioned every other day.
"Why were you sneaking around here?"
"What do you know about the Lifestream?"
"Who was with you that night?"
For days she kept her lips sealed, afraid of what they might do once they've extracted all the information they could from her. So she decided to just shut up and wait patiently for Moe to rescue her. Adeelah had the utmost faith that her other half would come back for her and break her out of this hell hole.
"He's probably recruiting the other islander's and getting all the help he can get." She would think.
There wasn't a window in her cell, so she never actually knew how much time passed. After what felt like days, chaos descended upon the laboratory.
"Yeah, the boss is down. Proceed with emergency back-up plan." This was shouted by one of the guards as everyone packed up their strange equipment and evacuated. Everyone except for Adeelah. She was forgotten in the madness. That or they just left her there to rot in a cell. After awhile, some other people entered the building. From her cell at the end of a deserted hallway, Adeelah could hear the metal entrance doors being pushed open. Footsteps echoed as a group of people explored the main rooms of the lab. Pressing her face up against the metal bars, she could see that this group of people were different than the ones before.
These people were dressed like they belonged to the military or something. Adeelah didn't recognize any of them, so the chances they were sent by Moe were slim. There weren't many, probably about eight or nine. None of them bothered coming down the hallway where she was trapped. Not that she blamed them, the hallway looked to be a dead-end, so no one would notice the jail cell unless they were looking for it.
"I found something!" A faint voice cried. The rest of the group rushed into the room to listen to their companion. Adeelah could hear excited murmuring and shuffling coming from the room. One by one, the group exited into the hallway and made their way back to the main entrance. Realizing that her chance to escape was slipping away, she tried to call out.
"Wait! Help!" Adeelah cried. But after days of not using her voice, the words came out in a croak.
"Please! Please come back!" She tried once again. It was no use, the group had already left.
"It's alright," She tried to console herself as she sank to the ground, "Moe is still coming for you."
