[Name] II

Going Home, Part 4

You were awoken by someone shaking you.

"C'mon, [Name]!  We're here!"  You rubbed your eyes and looked at Yuffie.

"What?"  You asked groggily.  Yuffie pointed to the window beside her.

"Phraxos."

Outside, you could see a lush, tropical landscape.  From your view above the island, you could see a marketplace near the eastern shore and small houses sprinkled miles away from that.  A thick rain forest covered most of the island.  The gummi ship descended upon a clearing not far from the urban part of the island.  When you landed, Cid's voice came over the intercom.

"Alright, we wanna make this as quick as possible.  We pair up and ask the locals if they've seen any police forces 'round here.  We meet back up here after about an hour and see what kinda info we got."

Everyone got off of the ship and waited outside for Cid to give the okay.

"Okay, so meet back here in an hour.  And make sure you guys spread out around the town; nothing looks weirder than a bunch of strangers leavin' the woods together."

Axel

You felt a hand on your shoulder and turned to see a certain redhead beside you.

"Hey, Axel," you said.

"[Name]," he said playfully, "what do you say about being my partner?  We'd make cutest pair."  You rolled your eyes as a blush appeared.

"Sure, Axel."

The two of you made your way into the marketplace and began to ask the vendors if they've seen your missing friends.  Most said they hadn't, claiming they were too busy running there business to notice anyone that wasn't a customer.  You and Axel were almost at the end of the line of vendors when you tried again.  You approached a woman who was busy cleaning her stand.

"Excuse me, but we're looking-"

"Oh my!  Why I have just the thing for you two!"

"What?"  She put down the rag she was using and bent down to retrieve something from the display case.  It was then that you saw what she was selling.  Engagement rings.

"Oh no!  That's not-  We're not-!"  You hurriedly tried to explain that you weren't there to look at rings.

"We're actually looking for our friends.  Two guys with scars on their faces and a girl who looks like she could kick anyone's ass.  Have you seen them?"  Axel cut in.  The woman stopped and thought for a moment.

"No, I'm sorry.  It's a shame you to aren't looking to buy, you two are just the cutest couple!"  You blushed as Axel put his arm around your shoulder.

"I won't argue with that," he said before he led you away from the stand.

Cid

Cid made his way over to you.

"Hey, Cid."

"Hey, darlin'.  You wanna head into town together?"  You nodded and smiled.

"Sure."
