CHAPTER 2

The Editor team is calling again for a meeting this morning. I never saw Colin since I entered the office. He should be listening on what these guys are talking right now.

I saw Colin walking holding some familiar coffee cups. He saw that I just attended a meeting and seated on the side of my desk.

"That's the one you spilt yesterday" he said mockingly. I grabbed the coffee he's offering.

"How did you know my brew?" I told him vigorously.

"I guessed I smelled it on my shirt?" He replied sarcastically.

"You also had a thing on coffee huh?" I asked him raising my eyebrows.

"Yep, and I knew how much you died when you poured that on me." He nodded and sips his coffee offering a toast.

"Thanks, by the way we're going towards the Step No. 4: Like What He Likes"

I smiled shyly as I accepted the cup. No one refuses a cup of coffee. Not me.

"You'll take me to a soccer game later," Colin instantly asked me smiling.

I'm not into sports but why did he suddenly—

"I like soccer, whatever happens, you're taking me okay?" his eyes lit up when he said that idea. Why did I trust him again?

"I want you to experience what would make that suggestion do, I told you, experiences." He said grinning pointing out the last word.

We are walking through the parking lot and Colin never runs out of his soccer stories. We suddenly stopped and he sat on his motorbike.

"Maybe this is the Step 4," I told him out of the blue.

"I know you had been looking at me the whole time, don't you!" Colin suddenly added making me blush.

"Not again, Colin."

"Its Step 4, Dane. Make signs,"

"Don't look at me, lady." He mocked me playfully.

-

We walked fast on the arena. There are too many people on the lobby area and we can't get on to where Colin is taking us. He kept on looking at me from the back, he was in front of me protecting me with these bunch of people.

"You okay?" He asked me shouting because the arena is so loud.

I nodded at him.

He reached out for my hand and we walked straight through our seats.

We sat on our seat comfortably. I looked around the place. There are many people shouting, they are wearing colors, some are green and red. While the other are on their casual clothes, including us. Well, for me, I don't know what color I will team up because I don't know any teams in here. I don't watch soccer, not only when our TV's open and my dad is busy eating his popcorns.

Speaking of popcorns, Colin stuffed me with two large popcorns in my seat.

I looked at him with question and he answered me laughing.

"Finish that so you can't be bored...." He explained at me smiling.

Yeah, he knows I don't like it.

We finished the soccer game with Colin screaming the whole time. I can see the way his eyes flare during the game. Sometimes he cheers screaming at the top of his lungs and yell on the players who missed their kick. I had never enjoyed a sport game to be honest. But watching this game live is an exception. He's happy, and I'm happy. He enjoyed it, and so I was.

That's the time where the butterflies laid on my stomach. It's been months since they had been there.

I'm not ready to welcome you now, butterflies.

"Thank you," he said looking on his footsteps while we're walking on the parking lot.

"Thank you, too." I told him looking at his face.

"It's my first time watching a sport live," I told him laughing.

"It's my first time too, after so many months." He said smiling.

"How's your throat?" I asked him mockingly.

"Protesting." He said laughing. He's so happy, and I can still see it.

"When we watched the soccer game, it's about me letting you know what I like. They said when you're talking about something you love on someone, you appear even more attractive to everyone around you." Colin explained. I cannot argue with this.

"So, Step 5 is now Talk about him and blah blah blah..." I told him. He nodded coyly because of my expression.

"Yes, we're going half, Fox. Here's the Step 6." he said while opening his smartphone.

Wait does he have a list on his memo? Maybe he found my list not effective.

"Is that the experiences you're talking about?" I asked him as I point out his phone.

"Believe me, I'm trying to help you, I wrote this last night!" he said with a grin. Good idea, Colin.

"Here's the Step 6," he mumbled while reading something on his phone.

"Step 6: Get in touch." He suddenly blurted out.

"I'll just give you my number then," I told him and he smirked.

"It's not just getting our number, Fox. You need to know me better, so I'm looking forward for a late night conversation!" his tone looks like he's going to host some exciting party.

After I can give my suggestion, Colin get fished out his keys and held my arm as he helped me sat on his motorbike.

I was shocked because I'm still not used to this, not with the bike, but with this.

I told myself maybe the butterflies lost their motions, got tired and laid on mine. Maybe I'm so done of letting the pain stab me again and again and maybe I'm just trying way too hard to be loved again.

"Why Fox, do I make you flutter?" Colin silently mumbled. He still holds my arms to keep me balanced on Night. His face is just inches from me, and I started to feel uneasy.

"I, um..." my tongue's tied. My mouth's not participating. Say something!

Colin suddenly cracked out of laughter in front of me. He also pinched my cheeks painfully. I think it's starting to be his hobby now.

"It worked!" he told me exasperatedly. His face glowed after what happened earlier.

"What are you talking about?" I asked him with a discern look.

"I want you to talk to me with your eyes; look at me with a contact sparks. Talk confidently, so I can feel more focused on you while you're talking." He explained to me with his eyes locked in mine.

"Step 7?" I murmured on him.

"This is how you'll talk to me from now, it's the Contact" Colin seriously replied.

I foolishly laughed in my thoughts that it's scripted. It was part of the article. I'm writing this for the sake of my career.

"Let's continue the 8th tomorrow; I need to take you home. Look at your face; it needs a lot of sleep!" Colin touched my under eyes and laughed on it.

"Just take me on the Bus Station, I'm good to go," I told him and he suddenly stopped moving. His head tilt from the side and blurted out something on me.

"I need to take you home, it's too late in the evening." He argued.

"No, it's—"

"I insist Dane. You need to make me fall for you tomorrow morning, you need a good night sleep." As then he slid back his helmet and start riding. Why is this man making my heart skip a bit as always? Is this part of his list!

Now I realized it's true. Don't play with girls' feelings. Nah, even it's a part of an article or so. Don't you dare do it.

But then.
