~~~ Scientists
The two scientists who'd declined to sign the papers were almost frothing at the broadcast. The woman was completely incensed. If she'd known what they were talking about she'd have jumped in but the entire hush hush thing was to much for her. Looking back, she could see the reason but it didn't matter. They should have explained why they needed the papers she'd have dealt with it.
Being completely shut out of the potential to learn new things had her almost chewing on the table. It was the same with the others who'd decided not to submit to the government demands. They didn't have the right to force them to sign those papers. She and the others had finally submitted a lawsuit to demand access to the items related to what'd been found.
It was working its way through the courts but kept being passed to a higher level. It was taking time to wind its way through the courts and chances were good it would take time to deal with all the trials and appeals. She was not a happy camper.
~~~ Return to the station
As expected the ship had undergone a massive refit based on the new tech they'd brought back. The armor on the ship had been upgraded with the new armor. The engine room still had the mule reactor but instead of the two former reactors they had three of the new ones. They weren't quite as small as the one brought back but they were far smaller than what the ship had. They had the new fighters were onboard, and all the shuttles had been upgraded as well.
The weapons the ship had were upgraded. They still had some of the existing weapons, but they also had some of the new dark matter weapons. They were still working on understanding how they worked thought they did. There were entire new mathematics which they were working on. Even as they were working on the tech they'd brought back new avenues of tech were being developed. The armor for the Marines had already been upgraded and had shown in any number of tests over the last few months.
Linguistics was still having some issues with the language from the systems. They'd mostly decoded what was needed to control the station but beyond that, they were working on it. They really did need a Rosetta stone to figure out the rest of the languages. As of now they had the basics down on much of the operations of the station. If they could get power back, chances were good they'd be able to manage to run the basics. It was still going to take time to delve into the depths of the OS.
"Captain, we're ready to depart the station." Nacy was at the pilot station." With the upgrades the ship was going to be vastly different as far as the operations. Even the normal engines had been upgraded.
"Ensure all departments have checked in and are green. Set condition 3 and prepare to undock. Engineering I need all of you to keep me updated on what was going on by the minute. Anything comes up let me know. I'd hate to have something happen." She was relaxing in her chair as she was passing orders.
The orders went out and it didn't take much time for all the departments to check in and report condition 3 was set.
Holcomb was at his boards and ensuring it was green before he reported to Cmdr. Wilcox, "Ma'am, all green as expected. The troops are ready, the shuttles, damage control teams, and weapons are all green."
"Report to the bridge all is nominal." She was keeping an eye on what he was doing and had to smile slightly since both were looking at an advancement soon. They didn't know it but due to many things they were going to be advanced sooner than normal for Were's. It had nothing to do with their father. It was the same for Nacy and Kyrill. They were ships crew, but they'd shown their abilities and the military wanted to keep them in.
