Lee Taeil is a shy boy. He hates attention but has a love of singing. Taeil wants to be invisible. He avoids all after school activities so he'll never have to be recognized for something. He doesn't want anyone to spend time thinking about him, it makes him nervous.
He has one friend, and that's Pyo Jihoon. He fell in love with Jihoon which was a huge mistake. Jihoon made him feel important, which he didn't think he wanted. Taeil recently confessed to Jihoon and was rejected.
Now he's alone. He keeps telling himself that he likes it like this, that he likes being all alone. But deep deep down he hates it. He hates it with every fiber of his being.
So why did such an antisocial boy join a talent show filled with the entire school watching him? Well that was Jihoon's fault. A few days before Taeil confessed his feelings he would constantly talk about Taeil's voice and how he's gotta join the talent show. After a while Taeil gave in and promised Jihoon that he'd do it. Taeil always keeps his promises no matter what.
Now everyone refers to him as the one with the beautiful voice. Most people would love the attention but Taeil didn't know whether they were lying or not. It made him even more self conscious than he already is.
Taeil has heard of Woo Jiho from Jihoon, who is friends with Jiho. He has no intention of getting to know Jiho because he's the opposite of Taeil. Taeil doesn't even believe Jiho even thinks twice of him. The least thing he'd expect is Jiho falling in love with him.
