Fabric pressed up against her cheek as she hugged his waist and a laugh left her lips as she felt the wind brush past her. It left her with a sense of freedom and she loved every moment.
They sped along and he chuckled at his girlfriend's giddiness. She was so cute.
Elation soon turned to fear when they felt an impact at the back of the bike, and Jungkook lost control, skidding to a stop in the middle of the road.
He shakily got to his feet and took off his helmet. Wincing, he looked back at the bike that was now wrecked and billows of smoke were reaching for the sky.
Shit, Sunhee. He spun round in a circle and soon she caught his eye. Her body had been thrown off the bike and had come to a stop near the railings that lined the road.
Sunhee had taken on most of the impact of the car, and even though her helmet had saved her life, she was still badly injured.
Jungkook held himself back from touching her, so as to not aggravate her injuries further and was relieved when he heard some woman say she called the ambulance.
The driver had sped off and left the scene of the incident. And leaving behind a dying girl and her heartbroken boyfriend.
"Sunhee, hold on the ambulance will be here soon. You'll be ok..."
Bright lights shining off of the white hospital walls were harsh on her eyes and she struggled to keep them open. Everything hurt, and she stayed still, trying to figure things out in her head.
Her eyes travelled down and landed on a head of dark hair. Jungkook? What's he doing here?
She felt a weight on her hand and realised a moment later that he was holding her hand. She flexed her fingers and giggled when he jolted awake; only she had giggled inwardly because she wasn't able to do it out loud.
Something was wrong with her voice.
Jungkook looked about him and then saw Sunhee had her eyes open.
"You're awake?" He got to his feet and grabbed her hand tighter. "Thank goodness. I thought you would never wake up! Wait here, I'll just get the doctor!"

He fluffed up her pillow and chatted amicably to her. It didn't matter what he talked about; it was just a miracle that she could now hear him talk, that she was finally awake.
Except it was like she wasn't there at all. As he rambled on she stared blankly at him, not taking in a word he said. The doctors said it's normal for patients who have suffered something traumatic and that it would take time for her to be close to normal again. The same with her voice, they said she'll talk when she's ready. Everything just needed time.
"Don't worry, you don't have to talk. I'll be your voice until you feel ok enough to talk. You can count on me." Jungkook pointed proudly to himself and squeezed her hand. "We'll get through this together."
