~Chapter 2~

~Jughead~

I love the beach. In Seattle we lived in a house only a block from the beach. I would go there every day and skip rocks. It was my way of escaping reality. The beaches in Riverdale are very similar to the ones in Seattle. There rocky, the waters cold, and there's seashells everywhere.

I picked up a shiny rock and skipped it in the water. I smiled as memories from when I would have rock skipping contest with my best friend Archie spilled into my mind.

Speaking of Archie it's like in that moment he knew I was thinking about him and decided to call me. I answered my phone and said hello.

"How's Riverdale?" He asked.

"Great I mean I've only been here for three hours" I said chuckling.

"Met any hot chicks?" He asked typical Archie.

"Well I did meet my neighbor her names Betty but she's just a friend" I explained.

"Well dang you need to loose your V-card already man!" He said.

"Unlike you Archie I don't try to hook up with every girl I meet, and I'll loose my virginity when I find the right person" I stated.

"Fine and I have a girlfriend now so I don't hook up with everyone just her" he said.

"Oh ya how is Veronica?" I asked.

"Beautiful as always. But she's great" he said being his cheesy Archie self.

"Uhh well I gotta get home for dinner I'll text you later" I said as I got up.

"Ok have a nice din-din little boi" he said making me laugh.

I hung up the phone and walked across the street to my new house.

I walked through the front door to see my mother cooking her signature meatloaf.

"I know I never cook but unlike back in Seattle we can't Postmate everything so you'll be getting a lot more cooked meals" my mother said.

"Where did dad and JB go?" I asked as I set the table.

"The store to get Hotdog some dog food" she stated.

"So what did you do at the beach?" She asked me.

"Um I met our neighbor Betty and I skipped some rocks" I answered.

"Oh speaking of new neighbors I baked some cookies were going to bring them" she said

"Mom you're acting like a perfect suburban mom, we are far from that" I said

"I know I shouldn't be acting like one I just want to make a good impression" she informed.

"Who cares, we should just be our troubling self's" I said.

"We moved here to get away from that Jughead! Now I'm sorry but I'm trying to have our family to be more put together!" She yelled.

"I know mom! Look I don't want to act like we are perfect just tell me you won't be like that" I said.

"I won't I just want to try to be a better mother" she said as tears started to fill her eyes.

"It's not your fault that our family almost fell apart and you had to move to Toledo for almost a year. Dad made a huge mistake and he knows that but look at us know we are back together" I said as I hugged her.

"Ya I know I just want us to stick together" she said.

"We will because we are strong and I'm not going to let us fall apart" I said.

"Ok I'm sorry I overreacted. Thank you for everything Jug" she said wiping her tears away.

"You don't have to thank me. Now let's get back to cookin" I said as she chuckled.

"Ok know we rehearsed what we are supposed to say and we are prepared right?" My mother asked as we headed out the door to the neighbors house. I can't believe we have to rehearse what we say it's unbelievable.

"Yes mom" I said as I rang the doorbell to the coopers house.

Betty answered the door and I smiled but then that smile was taken away when I saw a purple bruise she had on her cheek. It wasn't there when I saw her earlier.

"Betty" was all I could choke out while the rest of my family introduced themselves but I couldn't say anything I was just to shocked at what was on her face and who or what did this to her.

I walked into our front door and walked up to my room shut my door and sat on my bed. I had to do something wait I could text her.

Jughead: hey betty this is jughead the guy you met at the beach. i was wondering if you wanted to met up?

Betty: oh hi! um ya I would love to I guess but where?

Jughead: our spot.

Betty: and where is this 'spot'?

Jughead: the place we met. in ten.

Betty: ok sounds good.

I bit my lip. Wait what. Did I just bite my lip at the thought of this girl? Do I like her wait I've only met her twice. I don't know.

As the confusion in my head went on I grabbed my jacket and headed down to the beach.

Hi guys! So I'm so glad you enjoyed the first chapter. This chapter kinda flopped but it is kinda a filler chapter so the next chapter will be much better. So don't worry Jugeheads family isn't going to be a perfect little family. There is going to be some troubles there. As always Ilysm❤️
