The brunette looks at the whole situation as her eyes widen. Out of instinct she takes off running to Duck and pulls his arm onto her side. She steps onto the tractor to get a better grip on the child and soon Aubrey steps up next to Beca to help her save Duck.

After what felt like forever for they manage to get Duck free.

"Now Shawn!" The smaller woman yells over Ducks screams.

"Get this tractor off of me!" They hear Shawn yell in panic in the back.

Aubrey just gives Beca an unsure look as she slowly backs away from the tractor, Duck still on her arm. The blond shakes her head apologetically and steps away, taking Duck back to the farmhouse.

"Beca, help me! Please!" The man now starts begging as he tries to pull out his leg from under the vehicle.

Beca gets onto the tractor and tries to figure out how to make it drive backwards as the fence breaks and the monsters fall on top of Shawn, ripping out pieces of flesh from his pale body. Screams of horror fill the air around Beca. Just then Herschel pushes past Chloe, who was still frozen, with a shotgun.

The old man stops a few meters away from his son and his jaw drops, looking at his son, who was now laying on the ground, dead.

Beca buries her face in her hands while leaning on the steering wheel. She then looks up as she hears gunshots and sees the two bodies, that were eating Shawn a second ago, fall to the ground and into the grass.

Herschel leans down to the corpse of his son, not saying a word. Beca shuts off the tractor and gets off it slowly, not wanting to get into Herschels private space.

Chloe, Aubrey and Stacie walk up to Beca slowly, giving each other looks filled with guilt.

The old farmer then looks over at them, his face tear strained.

"Get out." He says, his voice just above a whisper.

No one dares to move.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE." Herschel repeats way louder as he gets up.

"I-I'm sorry." The tall blond says looking at the ground.

"SORRY? Your son is alive. You don't get to be sorry." He snaps at Aubrey.

"And YOU." Herschel continues and turns to Chloe. "You didn't even try to help!"

"I'm sorry..." the redhead let's out with a sigh.

"Look at him." He says and motions to the corpse with his head. "Sorry is no damn good." Herschel turns to look at the blood covered body of his son. "Please, just go. Get out and never come back."

The four grownups all look at each other for a few seconds, not really knowing what to do or say.

"You've got that ride to Macon if you want it." Aubrey just says in a soft tone.

The family of three then turns around and walks to their car, leaving Beca and Chloe alone.

- hours later -

The Pick up slowly rolled down one of the streets in Macon. Everything was wrecked and no human being could be seen. The sun started to set which made it harder for the four grownups to look for people who might take them in over night. They were all tired and exhausted, Duck had fallen asleep on the highway hours ago and just when Beca thought it couldn't get any worse the car got slower and slower till it finally stopped moving.

"Well, this is as far as we're going." Aubrey sighs and looks out of the window.

"Then it's far enough." Chloe smiles optimistically and gets out of the back seat of the car. Beca followes her, rolling her eyes. "Too much optimism could get you killed nowadays." She comments, resting her hands on her hips as she looked around the ghost town. They then all wait for Stacie to wake up Duck before walking down the street their car had stopped on.
