A warm day

'Today was great, I hung out with my friends, I got to see a catfish for the first time, they taste delicious by the way. Now I'm in a room, my room of course, I love my room, it's so... Me.'

'Wait what the fuck is going on! Why am I acting like this, oh, I feel sick.'

The door opens on my left, "Mars I know your probably not feeling well but here is your chore for today, you can do it tomorrow if you want", my mom walks in. "Huh?" I say, "I mean or just not, I'll get your sister to do it" She starts to walk out of the room, "No wait mama, I'll do it" I say. "Are you sure?" She answers, "it's ok" I don't know why she is acting strange.

"There are some people here to see you" She says very loudly, as if to alert someone downstairs. "Ok" I start "who are they?", "Just remember what I told you, and what you and your sister practiced" My body tenses up with the feeling of surety.

'What the fuck is she talking about?' I think. "Ok" I say aloud. As I walk down the stairs I see my sister, or at least I think, she is wearing some crazy amounts of makeup. There are two men outside the door that look like some men in black or something. They started to talk to my sister, who gestures to invite them in. They hesitate but eventually walk in after looking behind them. Suddenly I remember a rule 'never go outside when it's dark'. I've always wondered about this rule. I have no idea what could have caused this rule to form but whatever.

I finished walking down the stairs and when I reached the last step I almost fell over. My sister smiles, "clumsy" She says with a giggle. "Sorry about that" I say and suddenly I'm counting down, I went from the number 15 in my head to 14. I instinctively walk over to the radio and turn it on and I tune it to the news station. 13,12... I go to my sister and kiss her on the forehead and start making dinner, the men seem to be amused, 11,10... I turn on the flame as I take out some sausages and burgers. "So are you gonna be ready" One of the men said. "Yeah just let me finish making dinner" I reply, 9.

"Oh shit" I say quietly. I would have cut my finger off if I didn't look at the last second. I move my wrist around and position my fingers to be out of the way while I cut the salad. "Venus, can you help your boyfriend?" Mom says as she walks down the stairs with the vacuum. Venus was in the dining room sitting across from the men and next to my sister Jenna. "Of course" She says and walks over to the kitchen and away from the dining room, 8, 7... 'What was I counting down to?' Venus comes to my side and starts to cook a burger, 6. "So what house are you guys planing on getting?" One of the men ask.

"We're not sure"
"Oh, whatever catches our eyes"
We both tried to respond at the same time 5,4.

When dinner was finished, we set it out on the table, "would you guys like some?" Venus asked. "No, we are good" One of them said. "Okay" I said,  3. Venus sat right next to me, her arm touching mine and her head leaning in my direction, I do the same but onto her, 2. I turn to kiss her, and she turns as well, I press my lips to hers as her eyes flutter before closing, 1.

When we finished dinner, me and Venus gathered all of the plates and utensils, and the men got up and approached the door. "Ok, let's go, tonight you will be staying down the street in a large two story, there is also a pool and three bathrooms, one of which has a two person bath, if you guys are into that" One of the men said, rolling his eyes. Venus smiles and winks at me, letting the two men see, 0.
