"Yes, we will always be here to support you through the tough process of correction!" My dad said.
My blood went cold. W-what do you mean?
My mom replied, "Well you need to understand honey. If you were different, the whole town would make fun of us. We need to have everyone be normal."
I shouted back, angered that my family could betray me like this, "Well maybe I'm not the problem! What if the problem is every single god damn bigot in this fucking town! It's not my damn fault if others want to bitch about other people's personal lives. I'm out of here!"
I stood to walk out with my bag, but my mom and dad had locked me in my room.
"You will be corrected. We can't have something like that ruining our reputation as good parents and good Christians!" My dad shouted.
I was a combination of furious and sad. Thank god I already hid my laptop, phone, tablet, Switch, and complete back up of my pc in my bag. I just needed to find a way to get it to someone I could trust.
I quickly called Max, one of my best friends. I told him what happened and asked him to come over. I managed to get my old window open just enough for me to slip my bag out. Sadly, it wasn't big enough for me.
"Max, if I ever get out, I will find you. Keep my stuff safe."
And with that, along with a nod, he ran back to his house. I sat on the bed and cried, nervous about what would happen at the camp. I finally fell asleep. Still terrified about what was to come.
