On his desk, there sat a knife. He looked back in surprise.

"AAAAAAH," he screamed as he jolted out of his chair, "HOLY SH- ALEX YOU SCARED ME TO DEATH MOTHERFUCKER"

"I don't fuck anybody," I smirked.

"Ha ha ha," he said sarcastically, "I get what you did there..."

I looked at the floor, to see drops of blood around his chair.

"Max, you cut yourself when you stood up."

"Oh, I did?" He said surprised. He looked at his arm and we both noticed a cut running up his forearm.

"You stay right there Dylan, let me go get bandages from my bag."

"It's in the next room over. Wait, you put bandages in your bag?"

"Yeah, duh, I was a Girl Scout! The motto is "be prepared"!" I said as I put my right hand up with my first three fingers up into the Girl Scout sign.

As I walked to my bag, I caught a glimpse of the note on his desk.

"Dear Mom and Dad,

I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore. I have to go. I'm sorry for leaving you but I just can't keep going. Just know I will always love you. When Alex comes, give them their bag and let them stay if they need to. Thank you, I love you, from Max."

Below that, there was a long pencil mark, probably from him being surprised when I busted in.

Oh my god, Max! That must've been what the knife was for!
