I've always had to hide. At 11, I had to hide the fact they were questioning. At 12, I had to hide the fact I was genderqueer. At 13, they discovered I was gender neutral, asexual and panromantic. Now, I'm 15, about to turn 16. I decided to come out to my parents on my birthday. It took a lot to be able to gather up the courage to come out. Part of it came from how I came out to my grandmother on my 14th birthday.

"Momom, I have something to tell you..."

"What is it sugar?"

"Well, I've been thinking a while, and I think I'm panromantic, asexual, and agender."

Momom (my grandma) looked at me for a second, before pulling me into a hug, "I don't know what most of those terms mean, but I will support you no matter what, and I'll try to learn more about them.

Since that day I thought that maybe coming out wouldn't be so terrible after all.

I was terribly mistaken.
