Jasper POV:
Annie hasn't been the same for the past few days, we're about to graduate and yet there's something about her that causes me pain. She's staying away from me, away from her family. I don't know what happened to her but one day all of a sudden she stopped talking, stopped laughing, and even stopped smiling. She just stopped being herself. She became paranoid, always looking over her should like something is out to get her. Dean hasn't been here so I can't talk to him. Bella doesn't know what's wrong with her. Annie doesn't communicate with anyone. She stays locked up in her room. And whenever she comes out, she gets worse and worse. I actually fear for her life. Something is telling me, screaming at me to not let her be by herself. So I'm not, even though she doesn't want me by her side, I'm always standing out her window. I'm trying to see what's the cause of her distance. Did I do something wrong? Did something happen when she left with Dean, that day? I don't know what's happening with her and I am afraid, afraid that something is going to take her from me.
Then one night, I saw someone in her room but he wasn't doing anything bad. The figure was standing next to Annie's bed, begging for her forgiveness, asking her to please wake up and forget. I couldn't bear to hear anymore so I went to her room and demand who he was. But when I got there, he was gone and Annie woke up gasping for air. I held her as she cries, asking me what is happening to her. I couldn't answer her so I just help her, I rocked her back and forth. No once did I answer her questions and it kills me. Dean isn't answering my prayers he isn't here like he promised like he would.
She sits on her bed and stares at the empty dark corner of the attic. Sometimes she's talking to it when there's no one there. She cries... a lot and I cannot help her. I feel useless, I am her mate and yet I cannot do anything to help ease her pain. Charlie and Bella are worried about her. One night Charlie called Carlisle telling him that Annie wasn't breathing, she was suffocating. We all hurried over there and when we got there, it was awful. Entering Annie's room, we see Charlie doing CPR and Bella crying over her sister's body. Carlisle went to push Charlie away and finally, after a long time, Carlisle was able to bring Annie back. However, when Annie woke up, she shoved Carlisle away, screaming at him telling him he wasn't real. That he was fake and when I tried to talk to her she did the same. She shoved me away, crying harder, screaming at me, telling me I am not real. That all of this is just a dream and when she wakes up, we're all not going to be there. For hours she would cry, scream and yell, she would scream and look up at the ceiling, asking God why was he punishing her like this. There have been three incidents where Annie suddenly stops breathing and every time that happens, I fear that one day she won't come back.
Carlisle took her to the hospital so they can run some test but everything seems fine. There's nothing wrong with her, she's in perfectly good health and yet she stops breathing out of the nowhere. She's keeping her distance from me and I don't know what to do? She doesn't talk to me, she doesn't like me hold her, she doesn't let me be near her. I cannot comprehend what's happening to her, none of us do. Carlisle doesn't understand what's happening. He says he hasn't seen anything like this, that this is all new to him. But we have to do something, I don't know what but we have to do something for her. I'm slowly losing the love of my life and I'm not doing anything about it. Charlie wants to take Annie to Jacksonville to live with her mother, but Bella convinces him to let her stay.
I thought, perhaps having the wolves with her might help but it didn't. It seems it made her worse. Sam stood with her the longest, his feelings for she is pure, like a brother to a sister. He fears for her life, we all do. He stays with her and sometimes he would bring Emily over but she wouldn't acknowledge them, not even turn to them. The wolves, they sometimes stay with her but nothing has changed, she still the same.
We all try to live our everyday life, Victoria is still out there trying to kill Bella and Annie. There's still a newborn army coming for us and there's a stranger with Annie scent, tracking her down. We try to be as normal as possible but nothing seems normal not with Annie like that, she's a zombie. She doesn't eat, doesn't go to school, doesn't talk, doesn't even move from her bed, she just simply stares at the corner. Like something is going to pop out and take her.
She said something the other day that got me thinking. She whispered a name, a name I never heard before. And when I asked her about that, she freaked out, she said 'that was my name before coming here. If you say it, they'll come for me and take me'. I asked who will come and she looks up, terrified. 'They know I'm not supposed to be here and they're angry. They want me dead' and with that, she stopped talking. After that, she completely shut me out. Whenever she sleeps, I hold her tight, afraid she'll do something horrible and I'll lose her.
I don't know what's wrong with her, I don't know what's happening, or who is coming. All I know is that they won't take her from me. They won't, not without a fight. She stays with me, she's my mate, she the love of my life. And she belongs here with me. I promised her that I'll keep her safe from any harm and I'm going to keep that promise.
