Jordan's P.O.V
Jordan may have looked calm on the outside, but on the inside he was freaking out. It was a few hours before the ceremony and announcement of which side he was going to and he's just about to flip out. He wanted to be in Minaite really bad, he didn't know how he could be in Dianite, and it scared him that he might be placed there.
One of the main reasons he wanted to be there was because of Sonja. He knew she would be a Minaitee, always so nice to everyone, and if he was a Dianitee he wouldn't see her anymore, and he didn't want to lose the one friend he had because of a stupid choice. He thought it through, if he could almost... cheat the system, and do only good things, he could easily become a Mianitee. When that thought came to his head, another came rushing through, only the message was a lot stronger than the idea he had.
You shouldn't do that, it isn't right, or fair. You could always see Sonja if you tried hard enough.
Oddly enough, that changed his mind real quickly, and made him feel less anxious about where he would go, he should go where he most belonged to, even if it was with Dianite.
His confidence high had him jittery and dare he say it, exited. He will finally belong somewhere, and call it home, but the jitters were trying to eat that up, making him think about the simulation, and how all of the senior class will see his choice, or worse, they can see the decisions he's made and hate him for it.
He kept his head low as he quickly paced towards the library, in hopes to finish that book he got sucked into yesterday. He pushed the doors open and went to the section where he found the book. Looking towards the shelf where he left it, he noticed that it wasn't there; confused, he looked around that area, but came empty handed. He walked to the desk where Mrs. Patern stood, writing on a piece of paper he couldn't interpret.
"Mrs. Patern?"
"Oh good morning dear,"she greeted 'Do you need anything?'
"I'm looking for a book, called Era of the Gods, do you know where it is, or if someone's taken it?"
This was the first time Jordan had ever seen Mrs. Patern with a confused look on her face. It was unsettling.
"Darling I have worked in this library for over 30 years, and never have I heard of this book 'Era of the Gods', I'm not even sure that book exists. Are you sure that's what it was called Mr Sparkles?"
"I- I'm not sure" he said confused. He was certain that's what the book was called, so how did he find it, if it didn't exist?
"I should get going now Mrs. Patern, don't want to be late for class ha ha" he laughed unsettled.
"I'm sorry I don't have the book your after" she said sadly. "Hopefully you can find it elsewhere"
"Thanks Mrs. Patern" he sighed. He left the library confused, he wanted to read that book he got sucked into in hopes to get his mind off of the assembly happening after their first period, but now he was not only stressed about that, but also the book that doesn't seem to exist in the library anymore.
With five minutes to the bell, he walked around, heading to his class, also hoping to see Sonja, who conveniently showed up behind him, pulling his hood on his jumper back and freaking him out... again.
She walked with him rambling about what's going to happen today, and what might happen during the simulation.
