Chapter 5

You find a decent place to sit, actually realizing that Dave's deck was kinda cute. They had these cute little fairy lights all hung around, with a nice overhang and soft cushioned seats. After being mesmerized with the pretty lights and how much more quiet it was outside you remember why you were out there. "Fuck Dave is coming out here to 'talk to me.'" You say to yourself, even using air quotes. "What the hell does he even have to say to me anyways?" You take out your phone, checking for any messages but it's clear, as per usual. You contemplate texting Terezi, in hopes maybe she will free you from the hell of awkward silence.

•Hey uh..... TZ? Can you come out to the deck real quick I need your help
•Like. Immediately
•TZ!
•Please!!!!

'No reply.... shit.' You begin to bounce your left leg anxiously, looking at your phone like you have anything to look at and looking back to the door. Then suddenly there he is, casually sliding open the door and strolling over to you. You immediately sat up from your slight slouch and put your phone in your pocket. You had to admit, it was indeed a different shirt he grabbed but it was almost nerdy, almost, normal.

"Isn't it so nice and quiet out here?" He asks, leaning back in the seat in front of you looking at the sky. You reply with a simple nod.

"I really like the lights your parents have up." You mentioned, pointing at them

"Yeah I come out here a lot at night. It's pretty relaxing" The two of you sit in silence for a little while before you decide to break the silence.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" You asked simply.

Dave laughs slightly, "Funny, that's what I was about to ask."

"What?" You raise an eyebrow at his response.

"Yeah, Terezi stopped me when she got here and told me you wanted to talk to me about something?" He sat up straight, now turning to look at you. "So I figured I'd-"

"That fucking bi- ih- uh- huh...." you awkwardly interrupt. Terezi was going to get it later but for now you had to stall until she came to help. "Oh yeah I did. So-" You start, as the both of you begin to make some small talk. Very soon however you realize you're running out of small-talky things to say and actually begin to ask him things and learn more about him. And to your surprise he even asks the same back. You never expected to get so close to the Strider, but somehow you just made a new friend.

What felt like an entire night passed to you as you both sit in awkward silence, out of things to say. You slowly take out your phone to realize Terezi replied sometime when you were talking and distracted. It was a picture through the sliding door of you and Dave smiling and talking, followed by a 'Hehe.'

You decide to get up to find Terezi.

I hope this one isn't too short for you all, making conversation between you and Strider without knowing all of your own individual stories is hard! I try to leave it up to you guys to say what you want to Dave. Anyways! I love you all!
