CHAPTER THREE

The building before us was massive, towering above us four like nothing else. Mouth gaped open, I slowly opened the car door and stepped out, Yuki on my tail.

"What is this place?" Yuki whispered to me, but loud enough for Robin to hear.

"The prison!" He said breathlessly,"We're visiting someone today."

"This looks like a gigantic isolation chamber." I muttered, hugging myself as soon as we stepped inside. It had to be below freezing in here. I shivered, rubbing my arms up and down,"Scratch that. Gigantic freezer."

"They keep it cold in here for the prisoners. You should feel how cold it gets in the Summer." Robin waltzed up to the front desk, leaning on the glass infront of him,"We're here to see patient 3856." The lady behind the desk nodded, typing in the numbers and then opening the gate behind her. The gate beeped, and creaked loudly as Robin pushed through it, holding it open for us.

From there, we pondered down the hallway, and I glanced at each cell with vicious, psychopath criminials behind them. Yuki held onto me tighter, as Starfire and Robin led the way not even bothering to look around or glance back. They moved straight ahead with plastered smiles on their faces. I caught up to Robin, picking up his pace.

"So, I take it you two have been here before?" I ask. He shrugs, strutting along.

"A few times. Mainly when you're visiting Gar and we have no crimes to take care of. Speaking of which, there hasn't been much crime since the whole fire incident." I raised my eyebrows in surprised and puffed my cheeks.

"Why do they keep it so cold in here?" I shivered again.

"Well, they have to. This is also a place for the severely sick. Sometimes they cant treat injured criminals in hospitals, because they want let them. So, they bring them here to the basement floor, and try to treat them there, but usually it does not work. The patients end up dying, and since most of the criminals don't have family or money, they-" There was a loud buzzing sound, and frankly I was relieved, because the story he was telling seemed to grow more gruesome the more he talked,"I think it's their lunchtime."

"Wishing it was ours too." Yuki grumbled behind me, rubbing her stomach. Abruptly, there was a large blood curdling scream that erupted from one of the rooms.

"What the hell was that?!" I shrieked, ducking behind him.

"Must be violence going on in one of the cells. Don't worry, you two. Everything is handled by the authorities in here." Robin reassured us.

"So.. you can't help?" I ask, and he shook his head.

"Unfortunately, no. We've been instructed not to use our powers on these criminals. Not unless we have a valid reason." We kept moving, past what looked like a cafeteria and a few dozen more cells, til we came up on a large door at the end of the long hallway.

"Where are we now?" I brushed my hand against the door, and immediately took my hand back,"It's fucking burning!"

"This cell is what we have been the looking for." Starfire smiled, knocking on the door. A horrendous yowl came from inside followed by a large bang on the door in return. Flinching, I turned on my heel.

"Yep! That's my cue, haha! Time to go-" Robin grabbed my arm, pulling be back to my spot.

"Nope. We need you here."

"For what?" I quizzed, and he pushed open the door slowly. Immediately, my mouth dropped and before me in a large cage was Raven, growling and snarling at us in pure anger,"You brought me here for her?!"

"Uh-huh." Robin grinned.

"What are you doing in my room?" She growled, red eyes squinting directly at me. She bared her teeth at me,"Answer me!"

"I don't know what I'm doing here either. So how about I just walk on out of here.." I whistled, turning back to the door, and Robin wrapped his arms around me, picking me up and setting me back infront of him. He held my arms in place, leaving me to stare directly at her and spew swears at him,"I'm going to kill you little birdie."

"You can do that later. Right now, I need you to talk to Raven." He let me go, and the three of them backed out of the room leaving me alone with her.

Slowly, I turned back to her, and her grin grew wide,"Nice to see you again, (Y/n)."

I gulped.
