CHAPTER FOUR
I wasn't afraid of her, no, that would be an understatement. I was petrified. She stood, her hands in a large capsule, in a electric cage, smiling at me as if she was mentally plotting my death.
Which, mind you, she's done at least twice now.
"Hey," I drawl,"Raven! Buddy, pal!" Coughing, I scratched my shoulder and took a seat on the floor,"Chum?"
"And why exactly are you here?" She snarled, baring her teeth at me. I combed my hand through my hair,"Shouldn't you be huddled up next to Gar's bed?" I honestly forgot she took over Bella's body.
"No.. and if I was it'd only make me feel worse considering he's in a coma." She stared at me for a while, and I noticed her bottom lip trembling,"Do you know what you've even done to him?"
"Of course I do. He deserved it." She growled, turning her back on me. I sighed, gazing at her. Anger was surging through my blood, and all I wanted to do was beat her until she felt as bad as Gar did when he passed out.
"Did he really? Or are you just saying that because you know this is all your fault and you let your jealousy get the best of you?" She looked back at me. I continued,"Do you even know how much pain I've endured just to be with him? And then you turn around and take him away from me again? Do you know how much that hurts, Raven?"
"The fuck do you mean "do I know how much that hurts?"? I watched you take him away from me. With my very own eyes! Every time he came back to the tower, he would brag about how much he liked you and how much he wanted to see you again! I was nothing to him anymore." There was a long, heavy pause, before I stood to my feet, and dusted myself off.
"Clearly, this was the wrong time to come and speak to you." I whispered. I began to walk towards the door, with my hand on the handle.
"Yeah, clearly." She seethed,"Get the fuck out of my room. You took away my love, my life, and my freedom. What's next, huh? My powers?" I flinched, suddenly remembering why I was here in the first place. Finally, I pulled the door open.
"I'll come back." I said over my shoulder, then slammed the door shut. From behind it, I heard her yell.
"Don't come back here you worthless piece of shit!" I exhaled a long breath of air I didn't realize I was holding, and continued to walk the stretch to the parking lot. Once outside, I took out my phone and dialed Robin. It rang for a while, before he answered.
"(Y/n). How did it go?" He immediately questioned. Biting my lip, I stared down the road for the T-car.
"I don't wanna talk about it. Come and get me." I replied. There was a small pause.
"But-"
"I said I don't wanna talk about it!" I snapped,"Just.. come and get me." Pressing the red button, I shoved my phone in my pocket and crossed my arms, waiting.
"We need to get out of here." He moved me infront of him, and beckoned me to go out the door into the grassy field lit up by moonlight,"Go. I'll hold her off."
"That's your plan?!" I turned to face him,"Gar, I'm not leaving you."
"(Y/n), listen to me." He grabbed my shoulder and kissed me softly,"One of us has to live to tell the tale. I want you to be that one. Please go." And with that, he gave me a shove and I tumbled into the grass just a few meters away. I laid there for a second, collecting my thoughts and gathering my vision. Then, it clicked and I sprung to my feet.
"One of us?! Gar wait!" I screamed, rushing towards the building. The roofing was starting to collapse in.
"He went to look for Raven, (Y/n)!" A familiar voice shouted. I craned my neck to Yuki, whos cheeks were covered in soot, and neck and arms were burned slightly. I nodded, pushing in one of the burned wooden planks that had fallen infront of the door. My hand ached at the sudden heat, so I tucked it under my other fist and kicked the door. It fell in, collapsing into the small flames just off to the right side of me.
"Gar!" I screamed,"Gar come back! Im mot leaving-" I felt something press against my back. I stiffened.
"Don't move. Or I'll claw you in half so fast, It'll make your heart beat backwards." Raven growled-
I sucked in a deep breath, opening my eyes, just as the T-car slowed to a stop infront of me. I opened the passenger door, and Robin sat in the driver's seat, patiently waiting for me to get in. I plopped down, rubbing my temples and shutting the door. He pulled off and I watched the prison disappear behind us, grateful.
"Are you okay?" He questioned after a long uncomfortable silence. I chewed the inside of my cheek.
"Um. Yeah.. Im-" I paused. Scared? Angry? Deeply dejected?"-Im fine." I felt his gloved hand wrap around mine on the console and I immediately recoiled. It wasn't that I didn't want him to touch me. I just felt uncomfortable at the moment. I wrapped my arms around my waist, staring out of the window at the setting sun,"Things just got really.. heated. Our talk did. It didn't end well." I added.
"Maybe I should've stayed with you." He responded, his face twisting with regret,"I didn't mean to leave you with someone who destroyed your life and relationship.
"Don't be ridiculous." I countered,"She didn't destroy any-"
"We both know thats a lie, (Y/n)." He muttered. I went silent, trying my hardest not to cry.
"Sometimes I wish it wasn't."
