Sometimes in life we all need to sit back, take a break and review everything that we have done, or are going to do with ourselves.
We might not always be proud of some of the things we have done, but we can all choose to make sure that the future we want to live is the best we can possibly live.
I think that it is important to take time out to get to know yourself better. Being comfortable with who you are is one step towards achieving greater confidence. So take yourself out on a date! Set some time away each week that is “me time”.
Turn off your phone, your laptop… Take a bath or take yourself out for a coffee, but use the time to assure yourself that you are a wonderful person no matter what flaws you think you have. Block out the stress you have been feeling and take time to listen to yourself breathing- hear that? It’s a gift.
Life is a gift and we are all very lucky to have the lives that we are living. Other people are far worse off than we think we are. No matter what age you are it is never too late to make decisions in our lives that will change how we live to make ourselves happier. It’s simple, we only get to live this life once, so do it right.
Don’t like your job- change it.
Don’t like your weight- Change it.
Don’t like your circle of friends- Change it.
It’s very important to surround yourself with positive people who have your best interests in sight and who love you for who you are. You need to be there for them too. If you realise that you are with people who are bringing you emotionally down, then try to find a way to change the people you hang around with.
This is good for our souls. Nothing lasts forever in this world so try to see ways of growing yourself into a better person. What career do you want? Make a chart on how you are going to get there.
Be realistic! If you are not honest with yourself about how much money you’re going to make in the future, or how much weight you can actually loose then you will only be disappointed. If you set yourself achievable goals then you will be so proud of yourself when you get there!
One last pointer,
Make yourself a ‘feel good book’ it’s like a mood board. Get a book that makes you smile each time you see it, begin to look through magazines and cut out photos that represent positivity and how you want your life to be... Stick these into the book and write happy quotes inside in bright colours. Every time your feeling down or as though you are straying from your path, take a look through the book and let it be a reminder that you have it in you to guide yourself back to a better place.
Give yourself advice, from yourself. Not just quotes from the internet or from people you admire, but from your own heart. Because once you have more faith in yourself, you begin to trust yourself more often and the world will open up to you! So stop doubting yourself and remember that you are always just one positive thought away from achieving your dreams!
