Sisters of Water

Chains of cigarettes and secrets

hang about our sewed up lips.

Wrecked hearts and forgotten memories,

great conversations when smoking trees.

We share our hearts, we share our homes;

it reminds us that we're not alone.

You raise your boy, have responsibility,

I contribute my piece of insanity.

I have a sister, she is my blood,

but sister of water, your impact's a flood.

We're cool, not fools; we rock and roll

they say you're in and I'm out of control.

You like glitz and glamour, pink and glitter,

I'm all glum and gloomy, some call me bitter.

But we take selfies in restrooms with fountains,

together we'll make our way up mountains.
