Esmeralda's POV

We got in the car "She said it was urgent?" Emily asked "Yeah she sounded serious too"

I look at Emily. She looks nervous

We finally go to Emily's Moms house

"Mom?"

"In here" We hear her say we go into the kitchen and her moms sitting on the table

"Okay? What's going on you're making me nervous" Emily says "Sit down Emmy"

"I'm fine with standing up Mom"

We see her mom start to tear up that's when Emily goes and hugs her "Mom what's wrong? Tell me"

"Before you came back home..I went to the Doctors I had this really bad headache and it's been happening for a while now almost close to a year"

"Okay" Emily says I go close to both of them and hold both of their hands she looks at both Em and I

"I Have A Brain Tumor and it's gotten worse."

I feel my eyes getting watery I look over to Emily and she's just frozen but the tears come out "Em Babe"

"Why aren't you at the hospital then Mom?! We need to get you there come on!" Emily gets her keys and her moms purse

Her mom nods "I was already gonna go because tomorrow's my surgery"

Emily's sobbing I wipe my tears "Here Babe let me drive you can sit in the back with your mom"

She hands me the keys and sits with her mom on our way to the hospital they talk about how much they love each other and the memories and how her moms gonna get through this

I believe she's gonna get through this she's a fighter

We parked and Emily literally picked up her mom and ran into the hospital

"My mom has a scheduled surgery tomorrow they said she needed to come in today" Emily says

"What's your mothers name?"

"Pam Fields"

"Right this way room 212"

We go into the room and step out so Emily's mom can change into her hospital gown

The entire time we're waiting outside the door I hold Emily

"She's a fighter Em she's gonna be okay"

She sniffs "I don't know what I'll do if I lost my mom Esme"

She breathes in and out wiping her tears "I have to be strong for her"

I hug her tightly "You can come in now!"

Her moms laying down in the hospital bed. 3 minuets later the doctor comes in

"You must be the daughter Emily right?" he tells Emily she nods

"So how long has my mom had this? Did it barley start or??"

"Well Emily when your mom came in a few days ago we did a CAT scan it showed us a pretty big tumor we wanted to do surgery urgently but your mother wanted to wait" he looks at my mom

I looked at her "Mom you should've just done it "

"I wanted to see you Emmy just in case anything happens during surgery" her mom says I try to hold in my tears

"Don't say that Mom" Emily looks back at the doctor "So tell me why we have to wait for tomorrow?"

"Our ORs are being used right now there's no space"

Emily nods "You're a Great doctor right? I mean my moms in good hands"

"I can assure you she's in good hands" he says

He looks at my mom "I need you to get some Rest okay?"

Mrs.Fields smiles and nods "Ill have nurses coming in and do check ups" he says while leaving the room

"Emmy I love you but you and Esmeralda should go. I'll be fine imma have nurses checking up on me and I'll call you if anything okay?"

"I don't wanna leave you Mom"

"It's okay. Go eat both of you I'll see you guys tomorrow okay?"

I grabs Emily's hand and her moms hand "You're a fighter and I know you'll get through this Mrs.Fields" I said smiling she smiles back "thank you Esmeralda. Emily can you go get me a water I'm pretty thirsty."

Emily nods leaving

Her mom grabs my hand "If anything happens to me and I don't make it I want you to take care of Emily For me. In my bedroom Under my bed I have a whole box with papers and a letter if I don't make it through go and get the box and give it to Emily okay? Promise me you'll take care of My Emmy"

I feel tears run down my cheeks "I promise"
