I plopped my self onto the sand colored couch. I grabbed the tv remote, and turned the tv on. The bright images popped up on the screen. Still grasping the channel changer, I searched for the news about the weather, and I soon came to a halt, I was about to press the 'ok' button so I could watch the weather, when all of a sudden the electricity went out. Including the tv. Great, I was stuck in the dark with no lights what so ever. The dark clouds coloured the beautiful sunlight, so no rays reached the windows. Suddenly my brain clicked, I had an idea. I stood up and carefully walked to the kitchen. I felt around the counter and found what I was looking for. It was a box of matches. Unfortunately there was so flashlights, or candles. I took a match and grazed the tip along the side of the box, creating a tiny ball of light. Shadows crept around me as I was holding the match between my fingers. I started to wonder what my 'busy' dad was doing. I shuffled to his room, where he would be doing his work. When I entered his bedroom, he was not there. But I soon noticed a note on the desk. "At meeting, be back late." That's just great I thought. My dad is gone, and now I'm alone with a match for light. I left the room, and went to the window to look outside. The palm trees were shaking fiercely, and the sky was so dreary. I sighed. All I could do was sit on the couch and wait till the storm died down. 'I can text dad on my phone!' I realized. I grabbed my phone, and typed 'there's no electricity here, and I'm all alone in the dark. Please come home!' It felt like 30 mins after my dad responded with 'The storm is too fierce to come home right now, but I'll come home as soon as I can.' I was so angry, he couldn't come home to be with his own daughter?! Just as I said that my phone turned off, I had no battery! I couldn't charge my phone either, since the power was out. Now I had no one to call or text if something happened. By this point, I was very frightened.
{hey guys, so I know I haven't written in FOREVER, but I decided it would be good if I wrote some more of the story. Hope you like it!}
