An hour had passed, and the storm was as wild if not wilder than it was before. I could hear the ocean slam against the damp, cold sand every 30 seconds. My dad was not home yet, and I was getting very worried. What if he never comes home at all? What if he gets hurt? What if I never see him again? So many 'what ifs' ran through my head, and I couldn't seem to push the thoughts away. The matches kept burning out, so I went to grab another one. The box of matches were empty. Now I really had no light. My brain was vacant, I had no clue what to do, so I just sat on the couch staring at black objects. My eyes became droopy, my head started to sink onto the couch, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep. I was jerked awake by a sudden noise. It was the ocean. I sprang to my feet and shuffled to the window. The water leapt off the surface of the ground, and lurched towards the house I was in. Every violent wave sprang closer and closer to me. Shaking, I went to the front door, and looked out onto the road. Filthy water covered the street. It was like the whole neighborhood was a giant swimming pool. A huge role of water grabbed the roof of a house, and engulfed it. I clasped my hand to my mouth, I was in shock. I could hear the wind yelling and calling out to the world. A car was suddenly submerged in the water, as if the monstrous waves had swallowed it. My whole body was trembling. 'It couldn't be!' I thought. But I knew what it was. It was a hurricane.
