Hanna woke up suddenly and was confused. Where am I? Who am I with? What was her name? The expressions on the kids next to her made her think they were as confused as she was. Then a lady stepped out of the trees and told them that they were almost eaten by a grizzly bear, but she rescued them, even though he got a swipe at their heads. She said that her name was Becky. She looked like she was lying, but at least it was something to believe.
The lady told Hanna that her name is really Lucy, Sam's name is Mike, and Daniel is the new name for Dallin. She also told Hanna that she was traveling south, Dallin was going east, and Sam was going north. So everybody started walking in different directions.
Once Sam was a mile away from Becky, he was disconnected from her confusing grasp and set off to find the others. Back at the tree stump, Dallin was just reaching it as well, but Hannah was already making breakfast. After they ate a quick meal they headed out to find the mind boggler and teach her a lesson.
“What? You say I have some sort of mind control power? And I broke your group up? Never.” said Becky once they found her. Sam, Dallin, and Hanna all replied yes. This time Dallin got the honor of tying her on a rock and asking the sky to hail.
The next landmark on the directions Mr. Mysteryvoice gave them was a meadow with a small pool of water surrounded with trees. When they were at the meadow, someone stepped into the meadow on the other side.
“Hello, I believe you call me Mister Mysteryvoice, but now you can call me Ben. With my help you can become the greatest human beings in the galaxy. Other than me, of course, when I am visiting Earth,” said a very old man, and Sam thought that if controlling the weather was possible, then living to 10,000 was probably likely. As Ben turned around, he invited Hannah, Sam, and Dallin to come to where he lived and be taught how to use their powers better. Sam, Dallin, and Hannah agreed that going with Ben would be best, so they started to walk with him. As they were leaving the meadow, the people-changer thought, “All is going according to plan.”
“Are you sure you're taking us in the right direction, Mr. Mysteryvoice?” complained Dallin as they walked along the small game trail that was meandering through the cliff for the third day in a row.
“I know where my house is, believe it or not,” was Ben's sarcastic reply.
Five minutes later, the small group reached a little clearing.
“Time for a break, everyone,” announced Ben as he sat on an old log. Then as soon as everybody sat down somewhere Ben threw rocks at them as he ran away.
“Hey! You traitor, get back here so we can teach you a lesson!”Dallin shouted furiously in surprise.
Sam decided that they should catch him to make him pay for the long journey he had them go on (and for lying so much).
“Let's put someone on guard while everyone else gets some rest.” Dallin told the group of WeatherMasters.
“Uh, guys, I heard a bush rustle. Wake up,” whispered Hanna summoning a slight breeze. A moment later Sam and Dallin were at Hanna's side ready for action. A figure came out of the shadows and pleaded for acceptance into the party, “I come in peace. I recently learned that I am a weather-master like everyone in your little group. My name is Tim.”
Sam replied “Prove yourself a trustworthy weather-master by summoning wind."
Tim passed the test. When Dallin asked if he had any unusual dreams lately Tim said that he heard a foggy voice in a dream he had two days ago that said to follow the path he was taking and he would find some WeatherMasters. Tim didn't seem like the type to turn on them, and Sam, Hanna, and Dallin decided to let him join the group.
After Hanna brought Tim up to date, Sam said that a flock of doves were coming towards camp, and that they dived at him when they saw him. So, Dallin and Hanna helped Sam pack up the tents and everyone started hiking.
As Tim, Hanna, Dallin, and Sam hustled along the rugged trail, Tim pointed out that the wind was blowing very hard in their faces as if it was warning them. So, everyone but Dallin got off the trail and started to creep along the side of the trail in the brush.
Ten minutes later, when Dallin returned he reported that there was a pit full of water that was getting covered by some men in camouflage. Dallin also told everyone that the forest around it was thickly covered by these men.
“Oh-no! They are tossing pressure grenades and throwing them in the pit,” whispered Hanna as the quagmire came into view. Then she had a brilliant idea. Apparently, Tim had the same idea because he started sharing, “we can persuade the air to lift us over the Camouflaged pit.”
Everyone liked the idea, so they started prompting the wind to lift them over the huge pit as they put up a long net that was about half a mile. That put an end to that problem.
Next Dallin thought up a solution. He added on to Tim's idea. Use a lightning bolt to burn the net and then float over the net. When they tried that, the small group caught the mind bogglers by surprise and they drifted above the death pit.
