TITAN
———————-

Peter Parker, who has never been in space, let alone on another planet, let alone inches away from what can be the destroyer of millions and billions of life in the only universe that is known, was shaking in his new Iron-Spider suit. He thought of the school bus, the last piece of a normal life he will probably have after this fight. He thought of Michelle, even faintly of Liz, and Ned, the last of his friends that he saw, that knew his crawly little secret. Then Aunt May, how he left her, how she's at home, waiting for her nephew to come home, and ask him how his field trip was, she knew he'd just say it was okay, and go to his room, and stay there, probably working on another project of his, while he is out on New York swinging across buildings, waiting for his chance to be an Avenger. Peter took for granted sometimes the care that Aunt May gave him, after she's been through a lot herself, a hero in a different way than he was, though he was not sure whether to even call himself a hero.

Peter Quill was confident in his plan, seeing as he one-upped Tony Stark's original plan. In his eyes lay a known fear, of losing everything. He thought of his mother, who was killed by his father, and his real father, a fraud of a man, and Yondu, the only family he ever had before the Guardians, dying to save his life. Then Gamora, he saw Gamora. The last time he saw her, the kiss that he finally got after so long. Seeing Thanos come to Titan alone, when he last saw him leave with Gamora, scared him to the bottom of every last piece of him. Especially the fact that if Thanos did not interfere, she would've died at his hands, with her last words being her confession that she loved him, more than anything. Nevertheless, he shook off all the thoughts, and put his mean-face on.

Drax the Destroyer, who was a comedy relievance in everyone's prescence, was overcome with strong vengeance. His daughter and wife's last smile etched in his brain. How he took his daughter to places people only fantasized about, and how happy it made her. Oh his wife, dear Ovette, how even the most melodic of tones could not succeed to make her dance, how it was the fact that attracted him to her. Whatever he would do, is not to make him as bad as Thanos, or Ronan, but to make sure that if any life is going to be traded for the feeling of succeeded revenge, it would be Thanos'. He was called the destroyer, but after what happened to his family, he was more destroyed. Despite those ongoing thoughts, he was ready to fight, and if he perishes, he is once more joined with the two souls that were taken away from him so unfairly.

Mantis stood still on Titan, hating how she feels and senses the prescence of such an evil being. If she was going to have a connection with anyone, she did not want it to be with Thanos. The plan involved her reading his feelings, and in all honesty, who would want to feel the longing for half of the universe to perish? The feeling of calling crimes of his mercy? All she ever did was make someone go to sleep, but now the role she plays is bigger than she thinks. She knew she had to be brave, and that the pressure of saving planets was nothing compared to saving half an entire life group, she stood with the rest of the group, feeling like a fighter. Literally feeling.

All Stephen Strange was worried about was the safety of the time stone. His mind was set, and his deals were made. But one deal was tampered with. The deal in which no life is going before the possesion of the time stone. He said if a life had to be traded for Thanos not getting the stone, it was going to happen. After seeing the outcomes of this crucial battle 14,000,605 times, they only had a success in 1. Tony Stark must be saved, it was crucial. Why it was crucial was kept to himself. He isn't a surgeon anymore, he was a Master of the Mystic Arts, and after everything that has ever happened, it all comes down to this last fight.

Tony stark, the boy billionaire. The man who had the best woman in his life, back on Earth, even though she begged him to stay. The man who lost his parents to someone who was controlled, someone he knew, and could never look at that person the same again. He remembered The Avengers, he remembered Ultron, he got flashes of Vision's creation. He knew that in this day, there was no guarantee of a lucky save, of close calls, of someone coming in at the right time to save him from anything. He was not going to die just to have half the universe join him, including Pepper. He knew people always treated him like the leader, and some silly doubt cannot get in the way of protecting everyone and everything. He stood next to a kid who he was not promisrf getting out alive, and his death would be on him. Next to aliens, and a wizard. In the movies, a group as strange as theirs used everything they had, and eventually won, but this is real life, and he did not know how long the world "life" could be used anymore. He stood guard, ready for everything.

Thanos. Arriving on his home planet, who he watched turned to poverty, and eventually declining. Thanos, who's desperate for balance, was willing to kill his daughter, the one he loved the most. Thanos, who shed tears, knowing that nothing could get in the way of what he wants, not even Gamora. Thanos, who's arm was weighed by guilt by the stone, in which to anyone's eye would look like a normal rock, was gleaming. The stone that was, through pure desperation, and hesitation, earned by throwing away the last thing he loved. Thanos, who tried to win back his daughter, watched her feel weak mercy for a worthless sister, and gave him the location of a stone that would help with the perish the universe. Why must he mourn her? The devil on his shoulder clearly won, if he even still had an Angel on the other one at all. He has killed people, countless people, but it could never add up to balance with the murder of his daughter. What Gamora told him, about loving nothing. How she did not believe that he loved anything. How she was stranger to the fact that he felt love for her, how he failed to show it so much, that not even she could recognize it. For a stone on a gauntlet, will anyone know that the prices paid were not all ignored? He was an evil being, but also a strange being. Taking in a child, when he has done so apparently many times before, who was to become the fiercest woman in the galaxy. At least that is what he believed. He killed her mother without care, and gave a child a gateway out of her childhood innocence. How he was stabbed with the dagger that he gave her himself, the day he met her. Her little fingers latching on to his, walking away from the life that she had, not letting her see the death of the planet she grew up in, though she had nothing. This battle is going to be fought nevertheless, he could mourn all he wants, but it does not last forever. Two more stones to go, and with all the ones he currently has, it was going to be easy. Love is not a superpower, love cannot be put on a gauntlet and be used at an extent that has never been used before. Love is nothing to him, thought it was something before. At what cost is all this? Nothing, he keeps telling himself. He was going to win. Lives are lives.
