MORRIGAN

"Morrigan..." a familiar soft-spoken melodious voice whispered through mind-link, making my wolf ears flatten against my skull. The voice had awakened me from my slumber.

The person speaking was my mother. Hearing her voice made my tail start to wag a little but I still kept my eyes closed, hinting to her I wanted to get some more sleep in.

It was clear she had gotten the message, as she let a quiet chuckle, before I heard the steady sound of her paws trotting away from my 'sleeping' form.

After she walked off, soon enough I felt myself being lulled back to sleep. The sound of the creatures in the woods were fading out slowly and I could but body relaxing. That was until, I heard the sound of multiple tiny paws hitting the ground rapidly, heading straight toward the den I was sleeping in.

I quickly jumped out of my sleep, only to have my small form tackled back down by two medium-sized pups, that had brown fur coats that matched Mother's. Their scents were familiar... my brothers, Jax and Adrian Jr, but we just call him Aj.

I let a playful growl, as I felt Jax's wolf jump on my back and start to lick my face and Aj's tiny sharp teeth clamp down on tail, tugging, trying to coax me into playing with them. I squirmed, trying to shaking them off of my tiny form.

"Jax! Aj!, I thought I told you to let your sister sleep." My father's gruff voice came through the mind-link. Immediately, they followed orders and let go of me. In no time, I saw his huge black wolf come into view, standing tall in front of the entrance of the den.

They let small whimpers before bowing their head and walking out of the den, submitting to his powerful aura. A yawn forced it way out of my mouth as I shook my black coat and stretched, relieving the tension in my muscles before following after them.

"Oh Adrian, the boys were only playing with her. I'm sure she didn't mind." Mother said as she walked next to him, nuzzling him a little, calming his temper.

"No Michelle, it's not okay. Moe needs to get as much sleep as possible. She's the runt, so she needs more energy. We're doing a lot of walking today, she's going to struggle to keep up. And we know they are getting closer to us as days pass." Father spoke abrasively. Mother didn't say anything after that, knowing it true.

"Papa? Who are 'they'?" Aj and Jax, surprisingly, asked simultaneously. I look up at him curiously, as if I were asking too. My father looked in my direction and saw the look I gave him before letting out a sigh.

"'They' are the Supernatural Board of Command, they make the rules us, werewolves, are supposed to follow. And one of those rules are, 'Rogues should never run free.', and we are rogues. We don't need to be caught because they'll do bad things to us." Mother interjected.

"But what 'bad things' would happen Mama?" Aj asked slightly concerned and scared, wanting her to further explain the dangers.

"They'll torture and kill us." Father stated simply. Mother shot a glare at Father. Fear instantly started flashed through our eyes.

"Come on pups, we must reach our destination before nightfall." Mother instructed, trying to take our mind off of our horrific new findings.
