I wish I could stop searching for you in crowds

              Dad said L O V E would show up
at my door unexpectedly
                                 and it did once,
but now every crooked smile looks like yours
There is a ticking in my chest
and I'm waiting for it to stop-
                                             For every hanging wall clock
to leave its hands frozen for more than a second
             Keep my heart from shattering
because I don't think I can do it again.
Pieces of your eyes reside in my
back pocket
and I hope one day to
                                        give them back
To stop looking through them every
          time I fall          a s l e e p
Because I can't keep falling.
                            Falling is Painless.

It's the never hitting the ground that's excruciating
