Misaki sighed as she closed the door to her house behind her. At last, she was at home. With the stardom that her parents had achieved, their family was able to live in luxury. Their home was more modern than the giant grandiose mansions that most students at Ouran Academy had. It was located at the top of a hill and surrounded by a tall concrete wall, far away from prying eyes.
While other members of the wealthy class would have entire teams of butlers and maids to serve them, her parents had decided to only have a few people come during the day to clean and do basic housework. They had their fair share of workers who got a little too close and behaved more like stalkers than just simple workers. It was just easier to not have relationships with them. It was the best option for their family.
Misaki scanned around to see if there was anyone at home. Suddenly, she heard a flurry of soft footsteps come down the stairs. "Misaki sweetie! You're home!" her mother greeted her brightly. Her hair and makeup were still perfectly styled in place so she must have just gotten home from work. Her mother's hair was perfectly smooth and her obsidian eyes were filled with so much warmth and love. She was wearing her favourite baggy pink pyjamas which Misaki had bought for her birthday last year. Misaki smiled back at her mother and nodded, "I'm home mum." she greeted as she took off her brown shoes and put on her white slippers.
"You must've had a long day! Dinner will be ready soon so get changed into something more comfortable. Your dad will be home today as well!" her mum cheered. With their busy and conflicting schedules, it wasn't often that they were actually able to eat dinner together as a family. The last dinner they had together was over a month ago. Misaki did feel lonely at times but she understood that it was a part of her parents' work. Misaki began to feel excited and quickly went to change out of the hideously bright banana yellow school uniform.
As she changed out of her clothes she could hear the front door opening and the sound of her mother's laughter ring out. Her dad must be home. Misaki quickly changed and ran downstairs to greet her dad. "Dad!" she shouted as she flew into his arms.
"Misaki, my wonderful daughter!" he sung as he returned her hug. He ruffled her hair with his large hand. "I missed you..." he told her tenderly as Misaki buried her face into his chest. She felt like a kid again whenever she saw her dad. He had always doted on her since he was always busy with work. She hadn't seen him in a week so she was excited to see him again.
"Ryu, why didn't I get any of this treatment?" her mum complained with a cute pout and her hands on her hips. "Honey, I saw you this morning at the Celebrity Couples Photoshoot." her dad chuckled as he let Misaki go with a smile. Suddenly, he picked both of them up in a giant hug. They both yelped and held onto him for support. "I missed you both! Megumi! Misaki!" he corrected and as a giant grin spread across his face.
"Okay, you're forgiven!" Megumi giggled. "Now go and get changed! It's time for dinner!"
"Yes, dear!"

"Yes! Hot pot!" her father exclaimed as he breathed in the delicious scent of rising from the broth. "Easy to make too! You just need some good broth, some tom yum paste and whatever toppings you want!" her mother explained as she began to serve the soup out into their bowls. The father and daughter both nodded in unison as they eagerly waited for dinner to be served.
