As soon as Harry left, Lily just kept eyeing me. I know she's shocked. The amount of horny geezers who ask me out are crazy and I always reject them.
"He's different." Was all I said to her and walked to the lunchroom to collect my bag.
I jumped slightly when I heard the door close behind me. I turned and saw Lily.
"You almost gave me a heart attack." I said holding my chest.
"Oh please, it could have only been me or your father." She rolls her eyes playfully. "So tell me, what's going on with you and Mr. Hair?" She's now sat at the edge of the counter with her long legs crossed, her skirt inching higher. Lily was pretty attractive for her age, very tall with strong features.
"Mr. Hair?" I laugh, trying to avoid her question.
"Yes, did you see how perfect his hair was, I wonder how many products he has to use to get it like that..." She ponders, tapping her cheek with her finger.
"Yeah...I don't know. So I'll see you tomorrow?" I say, opening the door trying to make a clean getaway.
"Hold on there missy, if he likes you he'll wait a few extra minutes. Now answer my question." Lily moves quickly and closes the door once again.
This time she's standing between the door, and me so if I wanted to get out I'll have to answer her question.
"I'm tired of all the questions today...how about I tell you tomorrow?" I smile.
"Nope. Spill now." She insists.
"Ugh, you're worse than Amber." I mumble. "Nothing is going on between us. We went to high school together and we recently met again last weekend. It's no big deal, I think he just wants to be nice."
"Oh, so he's just being nice...okay. So what are you going to tell the big guy?" I still, to this day, do not know why Lily calls my dad "the big guy". It's kind of uncomfortable but she has a nickname for everyone.
"Umm that I'm walking home? Like usual." I'm not going to lie to my dad. I know nothing good comes from it.
"With?" She pushes.
"With a friend." I answer.
Lily stares at me for a few seconds, then steps aside so I can leave.
"Be careful curls." She says to me as I walk out. I laugh at the nickname she gave me. My hair is extremely curly and I remember the first time she saw me, the first thing she said was curls. So I guess that kind of stuck. I don't mind it though.
I walk into my dad's office and sit in the chair facing him. He's on the phone but ends the call when he notices me. When I hear him say "I love you." I realize he was either on the phone with my sister or my mother. Please be Kathy.
"Your mother says hi and that you should come home for dinner." He tells me...it wasn't Kathy.
"Dad..." I whine. As much as I miss her, every time I go home she picks on me and nags me about something or throws the past in my face.
"I know, I know. I'm just relating a message sweetie." He sighs. "But she does miss you Kira..." He adds.
"I know dad. I'll think about it okay?"
He nods and changes the subject. "So you're heading to the apartment?" He refuses to have me call my apartment, home.
"Yes dad." I laugh.
"Okay, please eat something and get a good nights rest. You're worrying me lately." He stares intently at me.
"I'm sorry dad, just a lot on my mind. I'll cook something tonight."
