( fact eleven! )
eden was born on 19 june,
sharing a birthday with her
half uncle, sebastian.

six weeks had passed since the french-scottish royal family had arrived in scotland, and to say that things were tense would be an understatement.

"are you crazy?!" isabelle de valois bellowed towards james. she could not believe what she was hearing.
"no, but i am starting to believe that you are!" james fired back.

isabelle raised an eyebrow, disapproving of james's challenging tone.

"there is no way in this world that i am abdicating my throne! and for what? to move here to scotland?" isabelle scoffed.

"we're happier here, belle! eden is happier here! besides, you actually pay attention to her when we are in scotland." james commented, leaving isabelle furious.

the queen's face tinted red, and she knew that it would be better for her to leave the room before she said words that she would surely regret saying later.

storming out of their chambers, isabelle hurried down the scottish hallways. the angered queen made her way outside, where she sat upon the stone bench infront of a fountain.

isabelle had to calm down, she could not let james win that fight, or any fight for that matter. their argument first broke out when james proposed that isabelle leave the french monarchy and live in scotland with him.

"i heard the yelling. i assumed that i could find you out here." belle heard arthur's voice from behind her.

"i wouldn't suggest coming anywhere near me. i have yet to entirely calm down." belle warned. arthur sighed, and took the seat next to the queen.

"belle, i am not james. you have no reason to be upset with me. tell me what happened." arthur looked at belle.

the queen took in a deep breath before explaining the argument.

"i was in eden's chambers, playing her silly games with her. james came in, and we both put her into bed and put her to sleep. then, we get to our chambers, and he begins to talk about how i never put eden first or him first. that i always place the crown first, how i never give eden attention. a-and i told him that it was not true," belle started and felt tears prick in her eyes.

"because i try, arthur. i try so hard to please my mom or my brothers or james. i try to be a good daughter, queen, mother, wife, whatever my title may be. but he just tears me down, and he tells me that we should all move to scotland and be happy. i cannot be happy in scotland, arthur. scotland is where marlene was, this country is where my marriage always falls apart. i'm happy in france, i'm happy with my family and with my country." the queen broke down in tears.

arthur wrapped his arm around belle, giving her the security that she needed.

"belle, you are a good mother. you are the best mother, queen, daughter, all of those things. i promise that to you. i understand that yes, bad things have happened in scotland, but take the good in with the bad. this is where your relationship with james blossomed, this is where eden was born," arthur informed.

isabelle's blue eyes looked up at arthur. her glassy eyes seemed to glimmer perfectly under the moonlight.

"i am not telling you to choose either one, but just remember that both places have goods as well as bads that go along with them." arthur concluded.

the queen pressed her lips against arthur's, and the advisor gently rested his hands against isabelle's cheeks.

"what?" isabelle's blue eyes widened at the physician. all she could hear was a constant ringing in her ears.

"you are with child, your majesty. congratulations!" he smiled warmly.

isabelle placed her hands against her stomach, completely astonished. she could not begin to comprehend the fact that she was carrying an heir.

as the queen left from the physician's quarters, she walked through the hallways of scottish court. she would finally be departing back to france with james, arthur, and eden.

her eyes widened as she began to think.
james and arthur. which one was the father of her unborn child?

both were very likely possibilities. a part of her wanted the heir to be james's—it would provide her family with stability for the throne. however, another part of her secretly wanted arthur to be the father. she knew that she had come to love him, and she wanted to experience this journey with him.

but her mind could not stop pondering,
which one could be the father?
