isabelle's blue eyes stared down at the maps in front of her. she leaned back in her chair and rested her hand against her growing stomach.

the doors to her room opened and arthur walked in. the duke closed the doors behind himself and he walked over to the queen.

"hello, arthur." belle greeted, making sure to not cross the boundary that had been set over the past couple of days. arthur said nothing as he immediately placed his lips against belle's lips.

her eyes widened as she tensed up before relaxing and kissing him back. belle's hands rested against arthur's cheeks, touching his beard. arthur leaned into the kiss, pulling the queen closer to him. belle pulled away, and looked up at arthur.

"belle, i love you and i love our child that is growing within your womb." arthur whispered. a smile grew onto isabelle's face as she pressed a quick kiss to his lips.

"i love you too, arthur." she stated, finally happy that he came around to the idea of becoming a father.

james and isabelle walked through the halls of french court, deep in conversation.
"james?" belle looked towards her husband.

"yes, my love?" james responded, looking at isabelle. he loved taking these walks with her, it felt as if they hadn't had enough time together these days.

"have you ever considered having a mistress? please be honest." the queen asked, looking at her husband. james sighed and gave his response.

"i've thought of it, yes. however, i don't know if i would actually go through with it. why?" james looked down at his wife.

"oh! i was only wondering." isabelle brushed off, resting her hands in front of her growing stomach.

"you cannot have a lover. you do know that, right, belle?" james raised an eyebrow. he felt as if their marriage had grown tense ever since their fight in scotland, which is why he loved to take walks with her.

"i know, james!" she sighed. truthfully, she knew that james would have her head if he discovered of her affair with arthur.
