"Stop it," I begged, wiping away the mess slathered all over my face with my pudgy hands and arms. No matter how hard I tried to hold them back, my tears continued to cascade down my cheeks and mucus sneaked down my nose.
"Cry more, you useless cow," someone scowled viciously.
It was the same group of bullies. They always came for me after school to give me a little lesson for showing up. They continued to kick my limp body relentlessly. The bullies cackled at the sight of my bruises and cuts.
And my pathetic state.
I whimpered and cringed at the never ending blows.
"Please just stop," I sniffled pathetically, "Please..."
One of the girls in the group, who I instantly recognised was their leader, thanks to her unnaturally high pitched voice, squeaked out on of the most commonly heard phrases I always heard from her little group.
"Just die already!"
Someone managed to yell over the chorus of curses and snickers.
"Dumb fat ass!"
I felt someone yank on my hair, forcing me to look at them. Instantly, a shoe connected with my cheek and the blow sent me flying back to the cold, hard pavement. I felt a little wet patch begin to form under my head.
More kicking ensued and for the first time ever, I felt something broke inside of me.
So I sealed my mouth shut.
Don't bother begging them to stop, I thought.
For I knew that it was useless and nothing would stop them from hurting me.
So I laid in the corner and imagined a dark hole under me. I visualised myself crawling into the safe haven.
Then I shut the world off.

The monotone beeps of the life support machine had already bored me to tears ages ago. My body felt stiff and it had been hours since I last sat up. Eyes shut, I continued to pretend that I was asleep.
