"Heather!" Stella yelled over the sea of students. I had to stand on my tippy toes to look over everyone.

Why is everyone in this school so tall?

"Over here!" she waved and pointed at where she was seated. I grabbed my tray and hurried over.

Stella was in a mostly deserted corner as she said she would prefer to have more privacy. I had to squeeze past a couple of people to get to our table. Thankfully I didn't bump into Jason and Kyle. Today morning was embarrassing enough and I didn't want to be reminded.

"Great," I said when I took a seat opposite her. "I only have fifteen minutes of recess left."

I prodded the meatballs on my own plate of spaghetti. The clumpy round ball looked unappetising for some reason. Maybe because I'd hit my head. Did it take away my love for meat? Or was it because the cafeteria food looked hella ugly? No clue.

"We, you mean." Stella corrected and twirled her spaghetti around her fork. The red tomato sauce stained the silver metal red.

"I have so much to tell you. I don't even know where to begin with! I'm so happy you're back, for sure. I missed you so much. And you could have called me earlier instead of last night. I was having my beauty sleep!"

I offered an awkward smile. "Yeah sorry about that. I wanted it to be a surprise that I moved back."

At midnight, after all the tedious unpacking, I decided to call to inform her that I had moved back and enrolled into the same school. After a couple of rings, a groggy voice answered. The moment I said 'hi', she started screaming (and squealing) non stop for the next minutes. She only shut it when her pet Pomeranian started barking and yapping.

"I'm really sorry about what happened today morning. Too excited," she blushed and shovelled noddles into her mouth. "Also you're a lot thinner than I remembered."

I waved it off and thought of an excuse.

"I did some dieting and exercise."

Yeah, right.

"Okay. I'm glad you're a lot healthier then," Stella responded with her signature gentle smile. It was extremely contagious and I found myself smiling back. She then filled me in on everything that had happened while I was unconscious.

Apparently Jason had to carry me to the nurse office while Kyle and Stella cleaned up the bloody mess on the floors. I unconsciously touched the taped gauze on my forehead. They had to explain to all my teachers and get me excused. Thankfully, everyone was really kind and understanding. Most of them. One of the female teachers, who turned out to be our homeroom teacher, gave both Stella and Kyle an earful.

Sucks to be them.

And by the time I came to, it was already recess and the first few classes were over. While I was with Syrus, Stella had decided to visit me and bring me to the cafeteria for some grub. However, she hadn't expect Syrus to be there and I had a hard time prying her off him...

"Aw Syrup! Come join us for some food!"

"No," he declared and flung his empty juice packet into the dustbin a few feet away from him. It landed perfectly in.

Ashley had pouted and made puppy eyes when she said, "But it's spaghetti day!"

"I don't like spaghetti." Syrus spat back in return while leaning against the headboard of the only bed in the room. He clicked his tongue. "And you know I hate being surrounded by tons of people, Leech."

Apparently Leech was Stella's nickname because she always clung to him. Like a leech.

"But you're my favourite person to be around with... " Stella whined.

I coughed.

"Wow, and I'm supposed to be your best friend? Okaaay then." I drawled out. Stella giggled and hugged me. Notably a lot less tighter than before.

"Both of you are my favourite people in the whole wide world!"

Meanwhile, Asshole shivered in disgust. He made a gagging action.

"Yuck, how gross. And thanks, but no thanks. I rather stay here. Besides, I'll see you later in CS later, so just go."

Then he turned away so that his back faced us. Stella's shoulders drooped with sadness.

"CS as in Computer Science?" I asked. Stella nodded. Then she sighed, clearly defeated.

"Okay then. Bye Syrup." Stella whimpered and shuffled away with me at her heels. Syrus just grunted and waved us away.

Syrus and Stella were an odd bunch. It struck me odd on how they even became friends. From what I had heard from her, it was thanks to having a couple of classes together–

"–eather? Earth to Heather!" the blonde snapped her fingers in front of me.

I blinked back into the present.

"Huh?"

"Were you even listening?" she pouted like a little child who didn't get anything from Santa on Christmas. I shook my head in response.

"I said, you came back during the perfect time of the year. We're having a play soon!" Stella cheered and pumped a fist into the air.

A play? Ah, a school production.

I remembered the one Stella stared in a couple of years ago. It was called High School Musical and she was one of the Skater Boys or something. I almost burst out into laughter when I thought of that time she tried to skate across stage but fell off it. It was like something straight out of a Vine.

"Oh yeah, a play by all the juniors for this year's school fair right?" I responded. "Does that mean I'll have a role?"

Stella cocked her head to the side. "I think so. We'll just have to wait and see. I can't wait though!"

"You like singing and performing so I'm sure you'll have a part in it," I stabbed a meatball and took a cautious bite.

Ack, the horrendous excuse for a meatball tasted plain and unflavoured. Talk about budget. I set it back down onto my plate.

"Maybe. But you know me, I always get anything but the lead." she chuckled and looked down. "Plus I'm more of a wallflower, aren't I?"

"Of course." I replied without hesitation. Stella sighed softly and cleaned off her plate.

"That aside, Heather, you are never going to believe this. Guess what this year's play's about!"

"Ugh. I bet it's something kiddy or romantic, slash stereotypical," I responded drily.

Stella giggled and shook her head. She tucked a strandful of shiny blonde hair behind her ear. A wide smile rested on her delicate face while she folded her arms on the table.

"Rapunzel. This year's play will be Rapunzel."

Music I listened to while writing is:

You're My Favourite Person To Be Around With by sad boy with a laptop

I can't find the video on its own so please go check it out on Ambition's YouTube Channel. I listen to their playlists a lot haha.

Anyone watched Disney's take on Rapunzel? It's called Tangled and it's really good.

My favourite scene in the movie is probably when she's so conflicted on returning home and leaving her tower.

One second she was screaming her lungs out that it was the 'best day ever!' then the next second she was like 'I'm despicable' and started crying. It reminded me of  a girl on her period, so moody and emotional.
