"You Still Loved Us"

You were betrayed for 30
pieces of silver by one of your own,
but you still loved him
after all that he had done to you.

You were put through torture nailed to an old
cross bruised, beaten, for our sin and
transgressions, but you still loved them.

You died for the world,
you died for me, died to
save and set us free
from the bondage of our sinful nature,
but Lord Jesus, you still loved us.

After all that we have said,
after everything we have done,
you, in fact, still love us through it all,
despite all of the countless times
we tried to push you aside. You still loved us.

Jesus, you gave your life
for us, rescuing us from
a life of sin that we once lived.

You gave us redemption
we gave you humiliation,
heartbreak our unwillingness to forgive
others as you forgave us,
you were always there to restore our lives
even when we go astray from you,
but because you loved us, you led us back to you.
