Eve, unsure of what to wear to this occasion, she rummaged her newly-filled wardrobe for something proper to wear. Picking up one by one to check, filling uncertain, she threw everything on her bed. ‘Eh, what the hell’, she thought to herself as she leaned hard onto the wall next to her bed. Pepper should know, she snapped out of her thoughts and reached for the doorknob.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Tony had opened the door before she had the chance to, causing Eve to fallback and probably a heart-attack.
“What is wrong with you!? Ever heard of knocking?!” she gasped, one hand clutching over her heart, the other supporting her weight on the floor.
“I did, you never answered,” he shrugged nonchalantly. Scanning around the room, he gave Eve a funny look, “Way to decorate your room.” She rolled her eyes at him and plucked herself up from the floor, “Well, move away, I’m going to see Pep-“
“Why?” he swiftly tugged on the sleeve of her white blouse to stop her. She turned and pointed to her ‘decorated’ bed, “I have nothing to wear.” He stared at her in disbelief, “What? You bought more than 20 pairs of outfit, and you’re telling me you have nothing to wear?!”
“Mhmm…” she simply nodded, waiting for him to let go. She sighed and stared at him, “I don’t know what to wear- I’ve never been to this kind of place- Heck! I’ve never even been out in the city before!”
“And you never thought of asking me…” he sighed, pretending to look hurt and stalked over to her bed, “I already said, Pepper must not know about this- and this dress will do.” He picked up a plain-casual black dress, “I think tights would go with it too, I’ll borrow heels from Pepper for you.”
Before Eve could voice her opinion whatnot, he’d exited the room with her dress draped around one of her opened drawer.
The ride to wherever the headquarter of SHIELD was a long one, neither of them bothered to start a conversation. Eve sat on the front sit, paying no attention to the road.
“Nervous?” Tony broke the silence, prying open the door of his car. Eve looked up to find themselves in the middle of a desert, “What?” Slowly, swishing sound could be heard from afar, it got louder as it came closer. She shifted her body and turned to look behind her; a loud swishing noise, sands dancing blindingly in big circles as a helicopter prepares to land. “What in the name of-“ Eve gasped as she quickly made her way out of the car, “Tony?”
“Here.” She hopped her way towards the older man, “WE’RE GOING ON HELICOPTER?” He simply nodded and quickly hover his hands over his face to shield it from the raging sands. Eve simply followed suit and took a couple of steps back. Eve was slightly thrown back from the strong wind the helicopter was producing as it came closer to the land.
“Morning, Mr. Stark, Miss Robbins,” a man in his mid-forties walked out of the helicopter as it landed. Eve swore she heard Tony growled when he saw the man hopping off the helicopter.
“Umm, h-hi,” she stuttered and stared at the older man stupidly, she turned to face Tony as she was unsure what to do next, “T-Tony?”
“Let’s just get on it,” he walked over to Eve and gave her a little push from the back, signaling her to get on.
“Here,” the older man held out his hand to Eve. She took it without a second thought and shook it. Tony stared at the two dumfounded, “Eve?” The older man laughed and shook back, “It’s great to finally meet you.
“Uh- yeah, you too, I guess…” she blushed in embarrassment, and quickly reached for something to pull herself up onto the helicopter. Tony followed behind her, “He wanted to help you up, not to shake your hand, silly,” he snickered. Eve stopped on her track and took a moment to reflect back on the previous event, “Y-you, why didn’t you tell me!?” she hissed at his face, face growing as red as a tomato. “Sorry,” he tried to suppress it but he ended up barking out into laughter.
