Looking at myself in the mirror gave me confidence. After a day of vigorous work, I've finally finished getting dolled up for the party tonight.

My chocolate curls laid perfectly on my collarbones and down to my lower chest. My lips were stained with a cherry tint and my eyes were smokey and were smudged with a black and brown hue. My faux eyelashes gave my eyes a wispy look and overall pulled the look all together.

My silvery silk dress hung snug to my body and felt smooth to the touch. I slip on some silver bracelets onto my boney wrist. I carefully place diamond studs onto my ear. I slid on matching silver pumps and buckled the straps. I let out a big sigh and place my hands on my hips.

This morning was rough. I had woken up really late and had walked awkwardly into the kitchen. Assuming that my mom explained to Nonna why I was being antisocial yesterday after the mall, Nonna comforted me and made me breakfast.

After an uncomfortable breakfast, I put my plate away into the sink and spent the rest of the day getting ready and now here I am. I can't help but feel informally spooked at what will take place tonight at the party. My stomach occasionally became swamped with butterflies fluttering in excitement. I just hope that I'll be able to break out of my shell and make good relations with some family tonight.

I felt confident, ready, and eager to go.

I turned off my bathroom light and grab my matching silver clutch. In my clutch, I have brought all the necessities: clear lipgloss, my phone, translucent powder, and a tampon.

I walk out of my room to only meet my mom's beautiful smile that can invoke even a statue to crack a grin. She was dressed up in her gold dress and her mocha brown hair was blowed out and had curls at the ends. She wore her gold cross necklace that hung above her collar bones. She had looked absolutely stunning. I've never seen my mom so dressed up before so this is new to me.

"Wow" we both said. We both let out a light chuckle.

"You look so good honey!" My mom exclaimed.

"Nothing compared to you" I complimented nudging her elbow.

"Oh stop it, you look like you just stepped right out a movie premiere" she declared.

"Thanks" I say rolling my eyes jokingly.

We both link arms and made our way downstairs and there we both see Nonna wearing a black and white floral dress with an asymmetric hem chiffon poncho that hung comfortably on her her shoulders.

After exchanging a few compliments here and there, we finally decided to leave the house. Locking the door behind me, we all climb into the car and take our seats onto the cold leather.

It was about 8 pm now so the sun has died down a bit and has began to sink into the sky creating a reddish hue complimented with golden clouds.

As my mom backs out of the drive way and onto the cobblestone road, I slowly mentally prepare myself for what's going to come.

Being mesmerized by the alluring sunset and I had lost track of time and before I knew it we were already pulling up to the long driveway.

Getting out of the car, I took a step onto the concrete and looked around to see the many fancy cars come into my view. Challengers, Ferraris, Range Rovers, and other varieties of expensive cars flooded the driveway. I was taken back but nothing prepared me to what I was about to see next.

Nonna, mom, and I link arms as we all begin to walk closer to the house.

The colossal monument stood before me. My families affluence perfectly embodied into a home so grand it dwarfed me.
