Prologue

When Kennedy White was a toddler, her mother and father were badly injured in a car accident, left to die. She was put up for an adoption and months later, an ugly old couple decided to adopt her. "You shall call us Mother and Father" the old woman said to me in a ragged voice.

And so I did. My entire life I called the plump lady "Mother" and the thin man "Father" I didn't call them any thing else. For if I did I don't know what would happen. One day my mother and father went looking for a house and they found the house of their dreams. Finally, after years and years of waiting we were finally getting ready to move.
