(A/N: Long story short, my sister dropped my phone in a lake and I had to go a week without a phone in Arkansas. I haven't been able to post anything by school's about to start and I'm stressed about finishing some online classes among other things. I had a shit week last week, and I just hope y'all enjoy this chapter. Hope y'all had a better week than I did) WC: 2939

Yoongi felt guilty for lying to his mother, but he couldn't tell her that the only man left in her life was about to follow in his fathers rubber clad footsteps.

After the trio dropped him off to formulate a lie and gather his necessary items, he had walked into his home of 20 years, and lied to his unsuspecting mother straight to her face.

She just nodded in understanding, glad that her son was going to go help his friends elderly grandmother during the storm. Proud even that her son didn't need to be coaxed through a storm of such altitude, and instead helping another in need.

The guilt was eating him alive upon leaving his currently untroubled mother on her own, knowing he wasn't the only one afraid of storms. But she just waved him off, saying she'll manage, maybe even go to her friends house and stay there instead of by her lonesome self. It calmed Yoongi, but only slightly. He still felt like shit, knowing if he didn't come back his mother would be heartbroken that he had lied. Not to mention, leaving her in solitary and feeling cursed. Yoongi would have died in the same fashion as his father, when he had so much potential.

But he pushed all thoughts of guilt, and anything even relating to those thoughts, to the back of his mind. Checking his bag once more, he looked for his sextant, octant, and compass. Knowing that the sailors already had a map just in case.

Yoongi stated that it was too dangerous to try and navigate in the storm, it would just end with them getting more lost than anything else. So, they would anchor during the storm at the mariners 'siren hunting ground', then proceed to heave to. The act of stationing the boat (with its sails still up) so it is almost completely still, where its position is relative to the waves and winds and there is less of a chance of 'going overboard'. Basically safety precautions to try and ensure their survival through the small cyclone.

After the storm passes, and they are hopefully still in one piece, Yoongi will proceed with navigating them back to land. Even if they don't end up on their home island, as long as they can find land to identify, they can get home easily.

That was the plan.

Yoongi volunteered to go below deck while they are trying to wrangle 'sirens', staying within the cramped space and counting down the minutes till the storm settles. Hopefully he won't have an episode...he'll just read through it.

He arrived back at the barren docks, looking back towards the ghost town that was his home. Everyone sane were already in their homes, locked away and safe. While he was busy for-filling his death wish, and wondering if he was just destined to die in a storm chasing sirens like his father...

Probably.

As he walked down the pier, he noted all the boats that were tied down, sails tucked away. The water was still progressively getting choppier, normally the water would be sightly clear with a hint of murkiness. Now, with all the churning and tossing, the water was an angry black. The lack of sun, or even moonlight, casting darkness upon the water. Except it was even darker than usual, leaving Yoongi to stuff his feelings into a little box. Locking that box and tossing it on shore, because lord knows Yoongi wasn't taking them with him.

He didn't want to have a panic attack on the boat, he was positive those three meatheads didn't know the first thing about calming down someone having a said panic attack.
