She came from behind him and joined out staring contest. Her eyes pierces into mine with a stern look.
"Brooklyn!" I hear someone say may name
I break eye contact with him for just a moment. When I do, I come face-to-face with a familiar red head.
"Yes?" I breathe out
"Can I talk to you for a minute?"
I nodded, no words able to come out. We walked outside where less people were and where it was more quiet.
"What the hell was that?!?" Nicole screams the moment we go outside.
"I'm not really sure..."
"Why was he staring at you like that? I mean it's not like you guys talked at the party. Maybe he does like you. Or maybe he wants to murder you! I read somewhere that if someone holds a state with you longer than 3 seconds that want to do either of those two things. I'm pretty sure his girlfriend wants to murder you." Nicole babbles on.
"Yeah..." Nicole notices I'm not completely paying attention
"We gotta get the heck out of here" She grabs my arm and pulls me back inside.
We almost make it out to the exit before Klay comes up to us.
"Are you alright?" He asks
"Yeah I think I'm just a little dizzy " Klay chuckles and hands me his phone
"Give me your number so we can hang out sometime" I shrug my shoulders and put my number in his phone.
Then out of the corner of my eye I see Stephen's assumed girlfriend approaching us. Nicole looks at me then at her.
"Yes?" Nicole says looking at the girl
"Hello Brooklyn I just wanted to greet the newest girl on the team"
"What are you talking about?" Nicole asks for me
"She's Dray's cousin so she is going to be supportive and come to his games right? That's what team spirit is about! Anyway I came to say hey since it seems like you already know my husband Stephen." Okay, they're married. She put on a big bright fake smile and walked away.
Nicole and I looked at each other and left the building, leaving a confused Klay behind once again.
I threw up a lot that night, even though I didn't drink anything.
