Sunlight filtered through the curtains of the windows, partially illuminating the room. He flinched at the feel of sun rays falling on his face, so he rolled on to the other side. It was almost a minute to 7 and soon as the alarm went off at the set time, stretching his arm, he shut off the alarm, leading him to have another round of tight sleep.

As he sprawled across the bed like a starfish, his hand collided with the alarm clock. Taking a quick glance, he woke up with a sharp jolt. It was 8:15 am already!

"Crap! I am late. He'll be very angry."

Today was the day he would be meeting the love of his life for a long time. Without procrastinating further, slid out of his bed and made his way to the bathroom, making no sound as he walked across the marble floor.

He ducked into the shower for a quick bath and towel dried his damp hair. Before stepping out, he paused in front of the foggy mirror situated above the basin. With one swipe of his large hand, he was able to see his reflection. It's been quite long since he has properly looked at himself. He gingerly ran his fingers on his reflection, as if trying to feel someone's touch but grimaced when he couldn't feel it.

Stepping out of the bathroom with a towel hung around his waist, he pulled out a blue dress shirt, a pair of black dress pants and a navy blue necktie from his wardrobe. To give a finishing touch to his attire, he wore a dark grey jacket. He ate the leftovers of the previous night as breakfast. Grabbing the keys to his house, he left his small apartment and headed to the venue where he would be meeting his beloved.

On his way, he collected his preordered bouquet of freshly plucked red roses from the gentle looking old man, who ran a flower shop for a living, for which he had paid in advance.

With a smile tugged on his lips, he sped towards his destination. In no time he reached a serene looking park, or at least it looked like one from the exterior.

He ascended the flight of stairs. High, sunlight clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. The autumn air bore a pinch of winter with it. The sapphire mounted on the band around his finger glimmered in the sunlight. Leaves twirled down from their branches, rendering them bare.

Pacing over the gravelled path laden with a carpet of leaves, he continued to stride until he finally stopped at his terminus, with his hand resting against the trunk of a maple tree.

"Sorry... if I am late." He panted. As he gazed up at the tree, the remaining bit of the red maple leaves that was adhered to the branches came spiralling down and landed on his head, as if to welcome him. His smile, never fading away from his lips. The man checked the bouquet in his hands if any of the flowers have wilted, to his relief, all of them were intact.

Suddenly, he squatted down. Throwing away the dried and crumpled bouquet as well as the dried leaves and twigs, he gently placed the fresh bunch that was in his hands on the grave.

"I hope I didn't have to make you wait for long, darling." He caressed the white stone. "How are you dear? And my little one?" His gaze darted towards the epitaph, on which it was inscribed

In the loving memory of Jeon Seokjin.

"Oh, how stupid of me!" He emanated a dry laughter. "You and our little one must be in peace, away from the worries of the world, whilst I have to bear the burden. The burden of living without you. It's been a year since you have gone. It hurts to even breathe without you. Every moment without you feels like a curse. If I could ever go back in time, I would gladly trade places with you and be lying dead in this grave, because an angel like you deserves to live." The man cried with his head hung low. Fat droplets of tears uncontrollably fell on the grave which disappeared in no time.

"I wish we had more time together. I wish I had seen my son or daughter. It's... it's my fault... It's my fault that you are... I failed to protect you and our child... I am sorry."

He crumpled the leaves that came flying in the chilly wind and fell on the gravestone as he cried bitterly.

"I am sorry I that I was never there to save you in time..." Wiping his tears, he raised his head. His eyes were bloodshot. "But I, Jeon Jungkook, vow to take revenge on them. I swear, those who took away your life, I will make each and every one of them suffer tenfolds the pain and suffering you went through, so much that death itself would be scared. I will torture them so much, that they would be begging for their death." He growled.

"Now nothing can stop me from wreaking vengeance on the culprits. I swear to turn their lives into a living hell, for my inner demons have awakened." Venom dripped from each and every word that he spoke.

Anger, sorrow, retribution, malice and a plenitude of emotions danced in his eyes as the demon in him was ready to wreak havoc on the lives of his offenders, which would only be stopped until they have met their impending doom.
