*Knock* *Knock*
The loud knocking woke an old woman up who lived with her two sons in a small house. The sick woman woke her sons and asked them to see who was banging incessantly on the door. As both her sons approached the thumping wooden door cautiously, it suddenly broke and three hefty, masked men in black hoodies barged in.
"Who are you?" The older son yelled. His younger sibling was cowering behind him. "Get out of my house!"
Instead, the masked men grabbed both the boys and pulled them out of the house, ignoring all the pleadings.
As it was a festive season, hardly anybody was home in that locality. The hefty men dragged those boys in the middle of the empty street and forced them to sit on their knees. The onlookers from their windows watched the scene unfold in pure horror, while some covered their children's eyes.
"Where's the money?" One of the men asked.
"Money?"
"I asked where is the goddamn money boss had lent you a month ago? And why the fuck did you betray our boss?" The man growled. While he was interrogating, the other two men were looking around, keeping an eye on the bystanders if they were trying to act smart, with guns in their hands.
"I needed the money for my mother's operation. I told the boss that I would return the money on time and even gathered the amount, but I had to pay fees for my brother's school. As I was afraid to face his wrath, I left his gang." He confessed, quivering in fear whilst tears streaming down his eyes.
The masked man brought his face closer to the trembling man and spoke with a lower octave, "Do you know, what fate a person suffers when he betrays boss Choi?" He grinned. He was a true sadist who enjoyed watching others in fear. It gave him the feeling of superiority. "Do you know?" He yelled, causing the man to flinch in terror. The black masked man stomped his right foot and an iron rod which was lying on the ground was tossed up and landed on his hand. Grabbing the rod, the ruthless man swung it on the back of his head.
"This is the punishment for betrayers." The man fell down on the ground with a loud thud, eyes bulging out while the crimson liquid uncontrollably oozed out of the wound, painting the concrete road. The iron rod, smeared with blood was dropped to the ground, clinking against the concrete thrice before rolling off to somewhere.
As the man darted his murderous gaze towards the younger brother, he pissed his pants in fear. "Did you just wet yourself? How... pathetic?" He smirked.
"What about this midget? Should we let him be or send him to his brother?" He walked in circles around the trembling college student with his hand placed on his shoulder.
"Please... please, I beg of you... let me go..." He implored in fear. "I promise... I won't inform the police, I... swear."
"Did you think we would actually spare you, huh?" Satanic laughter resonated in the midst of the night. "Tsk tsk... since you're a witness, we can never render you alive." He pulled out his CZ-USA 85 Combat gifted by his boss Choi, aiming the muzzle at the quivering young lad, he voiced, "What a waste of youth. Goodbye."
*Bang*
The silence of the night was interrupted by the sound of the gunshot.
The lad too met the same fate as his brother, splattering the road with blood. The strong, metallic stench of blood with a tinge of burnt gunpowder infused in the air.
Upon hearing some noise, the ailing woman opened the door and let out a blood-curdling scream on seeing the ensanguined, immobilized bodies of both her sons. She ran to them, shook their bodies in the attempt of waking them up but to no avail. Her older son was already gone from where he could never return. She wailed her heart out until, to her surprise, he noticed her younger child coughing out blood.
