Jackson Tardland looked at Tiffany as if she was the one in the wrong. His iris's in what usally would be his green eyes, danced back and forth trying to focus on the woman who stood infront of him, staring him down. All he really saw was a blur of pale skin and splodges of brown, which coresbonded to the colour of her hair.
"I can explain," he breathed, while reaching out to take her arm, but she stepped away causing him to stumble forward instead.
"No," Tiffany croaked out as she wiped the stray tears away from her face with the palm of her hand, "there is nothing you could possibly say to me right now."
When he didn't reply and just stood swaying back and forth on his feet, Tiffany took it as a sign to leave. In all honesty she had wanted to leave the moment she entered the house, but her feet had been frozen, stuck in the hallway watching it all unfold.
"I...I Love you," She just shook her head and spun away from him, finally having the strength to leave.
''Please, don't go. I thought,'' Jackson hiccupped before then repeating himself, ''I thought you loved me.''
Those words were what made her whirl back around to face him. He was now crying, gone was the face of anger, replaced with a frown and hot tears as they fell down his cheeks. Tiffany became madder than she had been before, he had no right to turn his water works on, which caused her own face to become wet with tears once again.
''I did love you. I told you enough times, but it seems my love didn't mean shit to you, did it?'' She was shouting now and the force of her tone caused Jackson to reel back.
He nearly tripped over the edge of the rug he was stood on, but despite his varying balance, he unfortunately remained standing. Tiffany would be lying if she said she didn't want him to fall flat on his back, or even better on his face. Watching him fall over was however, the least of her worries.
''No it does. You mean so much to me. This,'' he gestured behind him pointing to the living room and the blonde haired chick passed out on floor by the sofa, ''was a mistake. I never meant for it to happen,'' again he stumbled forward towards her, but she took another step back.
''So it was a mistake that you let her come in and fuck your brains out. Oh wait you didn't have any to begin with, so that can't be it.''
''Tiff, babe, please don't go. Please,'' if his pupils weren't dilated and if his breath didn't reek of whatever he had been drinking, Tiffany may have stayed. She may have woken the drunken woman and shoved her outside, but she would have only stayed the night and left in the morning for good. Instead she made the right decision and decided to leave then and there.
''You don't ever get to call me Tiff, babe, or baby ever again.''
''No, no, no, no. Don't Tiffany, no, don,'' but before he could finish the door slammed on him. He ran into it stumbled backwards and tripped over the rug, fell backwards before landing on his spine and banging his head against the bare wooden floor. Instantly he knocked himself out.
Tiffany heard the crash of Jack's body as it hit the floor from the other side of the door. She hoped to god he'd only knocked himself out and not broken anything, not that she really cared anymore. He cheated on her, she saw him and a small voice inside her head told her it probably hadn't been the first time he'd gotten drunk, high and fooled around with some clueless girl; whose mental sate was exactly the same as his.
-----------------------------------------------------
Tiffany Charlton was twenty two, couldn't drive to save her life and stood in her opinion a meagre five foot two. So even if she could drive it wasn't like she could reach the pedals. She could now add single to the list for the first time in three years. Ever since she'd met Jack she'd thought he was the one, he'd been kind, funny, at the time it had seemed he somewhat had a brain, but the interaction she had just had with him showed he was none of that and defiantly didn't have much of a brain.
She glanced down at the plastic watch strapped tightly around her wrist. She needed a ride if she wanted to make it to the shelter in time. Breaking up with Jackson wasn't going to stop her from seeing Jimmy in his first rap battle and hopefully he hadn't left yet and she could catch ride with him. If not she'd have to take the bus, which was something she wasn't exactly a fan of. It always smelt and there was always an old creepy guy looking at her throughout the journey.
Her fingers were numb from the cold as she slotted the right change inside the slot so she could use the phone to ring Jimmy. With as much concentration as she could muster she pressed the ridiculously small buttons with Jimmy's home phone number. She pressed the cool metal phone shape to her ear, waited for the dial tone to end hopefully for Jimmy to answer.
''Hello,'' Tiffany sighed Jeanne had answered.
''It's Tiffany, is Jimmy there?'' She asked.
''No and if you see him ask him where the fuck he's been all day,'' Jeanne replied.
''Ok, will do thanks Jeanne,'' She drew out the woman's name before she hung up slamming the phone down in frustration. Looked like she was taking the bus, and lucky for her it had just arrived. At least something was going her way, even if it was a lump on metal she didn't practically want to be in.
Thankfully the bus ride was silent with no creepy guys, in fact Tiffany had been the only one on board, which she was very much relived about. The bus had dropped her off not far from the shelter there was only a short walk through an ally and carpark and she had walked through them many a time. As she walked past all the parked cars, she kept a look out for her friends, but couldn't see it at all. She began to wonder if he had even turned up or worse something had happened to him, Jeanne did say he hadn't been home all day.
''Tiff.''
''Tiffany,'' She smirked turning around to see Cheddar and Sol waving their arms out towards her, Cheddar more frantically than his friend.
''Hey, where's Rabbit?'' She spoke as she moved to give each one of the guys a hug.
''Changing his shirt, he through up on it,'' Cheddar replied and as if on que a voice from behind Tiffany shouted.
''Jesus man, why'd ya tell her that for.''
''In his defence I did ask and he did answer,'' Tiffany stated moving to give the man a hug, which he gladly excepted.
''Why you been crying?'' The question stunned Tiffany, how on earth could he see that she had been crying, it was dark, how could he even see her eyes.
''I haven't,'' She squeaked out, but the look Jimmy gave her caused her to hang her head before she then said, ''I broke up with Jackson.''
''I thought you said he was the one,'' Future teased sighing the air with his air quotes.
''Well he was until he got drunk and cheated on me. So could we please talk about something else,'' Tiffaney huffed out and didn't even mind that Jimmy pulled her in for a side hug.
The group was silent for a minuet as if they were mourning over the break up of Tiffany Charlton and Jackson Tardland.
''Rabbit broke up with Jeanene and gonna move back in with him mom,'' Cheddar broke the silence and Tiffany turned to look at Jimmy with wide eyes, granted they weren't that wide as they were still crusty from crying, but nerveless she was shocked.
''Fuck you Cheddar man,'' Rabbit groaned as his arm slipped away from Tiffany's shoulder to rub the back of his neck.
''I think it's time we all went inside. I got battles to announce,'' Future suggested and with a few mumbles, mainly from Jimmy, the group trudged inside.
