Bright blue simmering eyes reflected back at her. She blinked, losing sight of the blue eyes, when her eyes opened again the blue eyes changed to deep brown. This will never get old, she thought. Once more she blinked, making the deep brown go back to her bright blue eyes.
“Babe, you ready to go?” The eye color shifting girl’s girlfriend poked her head in the tiny bathroom.
The blue eyed girl sighed. You can do this Lacey, she thought to herself again.
“Babe?” the girl looked at Lacey, raising her brown eyebrow.
“Hmm..? Oh, yea. Let’s go,” Lacey grabbed the girl’s hand while walking out of the tiny bathroom then out of the three bedroom house that her mom and dad owned for the past twelve years.
“You drive or me?” Lacey’s girlfriend asked as she looked at the back of Lacey's head.
“Can you? Not seeming to focus today.”
“Thought so,” she took the keys out of her front packet, swinging hand. the keys on the black lanyard and is wrapped around her
They got to the car, in what seemed like ages to Lacey. She heard Sage unlock the car then Lacey opened the door slowly, dropping her backpack in the back seat. The old black leather that she sits in everyday on the passenger side, welcomed her as she sat down on it. Her eyes roamed the dash, going from her window to the steerring wheel to Sage's legs, Lacey loves her skinny black jeans. Sage had on that tie-dyed tank top that they made for their anniversary a couple of months ago.
“Like something you see Hun?” Sage smiled glancing at Lacey while backing out of the drive way then out on to the street, driving out of the small neighborhood.
“I always do,” she smiled back leaning over to kiss the red touched cheek of Sage.
“Later,” winked Sage.
“Fine,” Lacey giggled.
They went quiet for a few minutes; Lacey staring out of the passenger window, Sage watching the road. Both of the girls thinking, of the same thing but for two different reasons. Lacey looked at Sage's and her fingers, intertwined on the gear stick, she started smiling. Slowly her skin toned darkened to match Sage’s tanned skin. Lacey gasped, taking her hand away from Sage’s as Sage’s hand hit the gear stick.
“Ow… What?” Sage glanced over at Lacey before pulling into her parking spot at the school.
Lacey kept looking at her hand before it finally turned back to her normal olive skin.
“Did it happen again?” taking Lacey's hand, Sage kissed it lightly.
Lacey nodded leaning into Sage, not sure if she could trust her voice. Sage is the only person Lacey told about the changing of eye and body shade. “I can control the eye change but nothing else.”
Sage nodded kissing Lacey’s head. The clock changed to seven o’clock. The time they were to go in to the school and wait for twenty minutes for class to start.
“Let’s just go in,” Sage tugged at Lacey, opening her own door, grabbing her bag out of the back then she got out of the little red car.
Lacey got out of the car almost forgetting her bag. Then Sage pointed to the bag from the window. With a sigh, Lacey reached in and grabbed it, swung it over her shoulder, and walked in with Sage in to the school.
