You opened your eyes with a brisk gasp and clenched onto whatever was in front of you.

Wait.

It's... Michael. His warm figure is wrapped around you, and you're both knelt down on the sidewalk.

Your hair was disheveled, and draped over yourself. You raised your hand up to brush it away, and you pulled back.

You felt the tear stains on your cheeks as you looked up at a worried Michael Mell. You were shaking, and you felt...

You felt...

It was a unique feeling.

Somehow, you felt more... real.

The rain never came. Not this time.

You looked around. The leaves fluttered in the crisp, northern breeze, and cascaded to the ground. The clouds danced around the pale cerulean sky, and you blinked under the gentle rays of the sun.

With a whisper, a small gentle breath, you heard him speak.

"Are you... okay..?"

You looked into his cinnamon colored eyes, that pooled together an expression of genuine worry.

Even more tears ran down your cheek.

Everything was so complicated, yet so simple now.

"You... you passed out... and started crying... so I caught you before you hit the ground."

His warm voice filled your ears and comforted you.

You wiped your face.

"Thank you..." Your voice cracked from the tears.

A blue glow caught your eye.

From behind Michael, you could see the Squip eyeing you.

"Please... turn off. I don't need you. Please. Go away." You begged the figure that only you could see.

Michael looked confused.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I don't mean you. My Squip." You laughed stalely.

Michael furrowed his eyebrows. "I thought you said you didn't..."

The Squip faded away, and you felt alone in your skin.

The breeze tickled your cheeks and you looked back to Michael.

"Hey... Michael... Thank you." You smiled at him.

"Uh, thanks, but... how do you know my name?" He queried.

You recalled the past.

A shiver wracked your body, like a tsunami on a pale shore.

"Lucky guess?" You sputtered quickly.

You felt another rush of wind.

"Since you already know my name, it's only fair if I get to know yours in return." His mouth twitched upwards, he silently credited himself for the sly remark.

"(Y/n)."

Michael looked shocked for a second.

Then, he furrowed his eyebrows in deep thought.

"That... name. It sounds so familiar." Michael blinked. He was trying profoundly to recall the significance of the name.

What?

How could he possibly remember anything about you?

The wind blew a brisk breeze again.

The world spun, and you were on it. You were finally free. You could feel it.

You're going to start over.

You finally get to make the right choices.

You both stood up, and said your goodbyes.

You definitely decided that you wouldn't immediately tell him everything. And that was for the best.

Maybe someday, but not today.

The wind stirred again.

You began to walk home, listening to your feet hit the sidewalk.

Riding the breeze, something caught your eye.

A single sheet of tattered paper, flying on  its own.

You swore that it glowed.
