xix (Last Chapter)

Ellie's POV

I entered Grayson's house hoping to see
him standing in front of the door, laughing at me and telling me that it was all just a prank.

But no, All I see was Caution tape all over his living room.

"Why Gray?! Why? I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye" I fall to my knees and rested my face on my hands. I felt so weak.

"Why didn't you fucking tell me!!" I sobbed as I curled my fists and hit the floor with anger.

I have been in the same position for an hour now. I forced my self to stand up and walked up to his room.

As I entered his room, Grayson's scent entered my nose as tears continued to fall from my eyes. I walked towards his bed and laid down.

As I was laying down, I felt something underneath the bed sheets. I checked it out and say a piece of paper with a letter written on it. I wiped my tears away and started reading it.

"To Ellie,

Hey there Sunshine. By the time you're reading this letter, I'm probably dead by now.

The police found me. I'm sorry for ignoring you. I didn't want you to be involved in this mess.

I'm sorry if I couldn't stay with you much longer. I deserve this anyway since i'm a bad person.

I don't regret being an assassin though, I'm actually happy. If I didn't do it, I wouldn't be able to meet you.

When I first got to read your letter, I thought to my self

"Why? Why would she want me to kill her?"

And then I saw your photo. My eyes went wide. Why would someone as beautiful as you, want to die.

So I did what my heart told me to do. Which is make you change your mind.

Hopefully I did make you change your mind.

You deserve to be happy.

I always imagine us buying a house, getting married and have children. But I guess It will never happen.

I love you Ellie, So fucking much. Words can't even express how much I love you. You made me a better person.

You never fail on always putting a smile of my face.

Go find someone else to love. Move on. I hope that he will treat you better than I did.

Just remember that I will always be here by your side.

P.S I have a present for you. Look at my closet.

I immediately walked towards his closet. I went and grab the huge paper bag and went back and sat on the bed.

I grab the thing inside it. It was a teddy bear that looked very similar to the one he won for me at the carnival but a little bit bigger.

I went I hugged it, It smelled just like him. I smiled and I saw that there is another letter.

"Hey there gorgeous! I got you a gift!

Sadly, It's the first and last gift you will ever receive from me. It's a Build-A-Bear.

Mika mentioned how much you wanted one when you were younger. So I went out and got one for you.

If you look at the left paw, You will see a button. If you press it, you can hear the sound of my heart beating.

So if you miss me, You can go listen to it or you can cuddle with it every night.

I also sprayed some of my perfume to it.

Oh, By the way, That's not the only thing you're getting. Go open the drawer of my nightstand. You will see a small box.

Don't forget about me.

Always remember that I'll always be here by your side.

I leaned in and opened the drawer of his nightstand. Grabbed the box and opened it. My eyes went wide.

It's so beautiful. It's a necklace that has a heart shaped charm on it with diamonds surrounding it.

I wore it and looked at the mirror. I smiled as I admired the necklace.

"It looks beautiful just like you" I hear someone say.

My breath hitches as I saw someone behind me. There he is, The guy I fell in love with. The guy who saved me from my self.

A tear streamed down my face.

He walked towards me and put his arms around my waist resting his chin on my shoulder. I cupped his cheek with my hand.

"I miss you so much Gray" I cried

"I miss you too. We will be together again soon. Please don't cry"

I closed my eyes trying my best to stop crying.

"Thank you for making me realize how beautiful life is. I love you" I whispered as I opened my eyes and looked at the mirror but he is gone.

I felt a gust of wind behind me.

"I'm so happy that I changed your mind. I love you more, Darling."

I heard his jukebox turn on.

"Please don't take my sunshine away"
