I wake up to an irritating beeping and a blinding light. I open my eyes slowly. I was different. I could see every detail of the room clearly. I could hear the birds chirping outside and I could sense the spider spinning its web on the left windowsill. I sit up slowly and look around the room. White, clean and comfortable, which in the last case isn't like a hospital room. What's happened to me? Is my only thought. I hear footsteps and there heartbeats. Some don't have some but some do. A vampire. Oh my god, I'm a vampire. Four people fill the room. Carlisle, Sam, Edward, Bella and... Paul. That explains the four heartbeats. Wait four? Sam, Bella and Paul. That's three but I can hear four? I start to panic.
"Calm down Johanna," Edward starts," It's your heartbeat," My jaw drops,
"How?" I whisper,
"We're thinking it's the imprint. The magic of the imprint only made you inherit the good qualities of a vampire." Carlisle says.
"Those are...?" I say intrigued,
"Speed, hearing, eye-sight, healing, smell and your strength will most likely be stronger than Emmett's. Seeing as you have your blood still pumping." I start to breathe weird.
"What about sleep? And do I have to you know... drink b-blood," I stutter looking at Bella, surprised to see a little spark of concern in her eyes.
"You will still need some sleep, but not as much. You also can drink blood if you'd like. But food is just as good. So basically you're just an insanely enhanced version of your normal self," I grin at Carlisle and glance at the now pissed looking Bella.
"What's wrong Bella? Cat got your tongue?" I ask and Sam tries not to smile,
"This is stupid," She huffs quietly,
"I mustn't like blood because you don't smell appetising," I say cheekily. She glares and looks as though she was about to say something, but I interrupt.
"Hold up!" An idea popping into my head, "Am I immortal?"
"We have discovered from talking to others that while physically to humans it may have been ten years you will only look like it has been one," Carlisle clarifies.
"You guys know a lot?" I ask raising an eyebrow,
"You have been out for four days," Edward says amused.
"Oh my god, I missed the track meeting!" They laugh and I look at Paul, to see him staring at his feet.
"Paul?" I say my voice cracking.
"We should leave you alone," Sam says and everyone files out.
"I failed," Paul whimpers, placing his head in his hands. I slide out of bed and walk up to him.
"How? I can protect myself now! You don't smell like wet dog either," I say trying to lighten the mood.
"I was supposed to protect you," He says his voice cracking,
"You have! I'm here aren't I? Fate wanted us to be here for centuries. Together," I say sitting down next to him on the floor. He looks at me for the first time and I feel my stomach do there familiar flip flops.
"I'm never leaving your side again," He says and I smile faintly,
"Heard that one before, "I snort,
"You know I mean it," He grabs my face in his hands and presses his lips against mine. I respond quickly, deepening it. After a moment of pure bliss I pull away and stand up.
"You know for a bloodsucker, that flawless look works on you," I laugh and walk in front of a mirror hanging on the wall. I was surprised with what I saw. My dark hair was silkier and frizz-less. My blue eyes were the same but I had red flecks in them. My lightly tanned skin was smooth and had barely any blemishes on it. My slight flab had also been lightly touched up. It was still there but it was better.
