The next day was odd.
They day began the same as always. Ethan cook; and Jenny leaves.
While walking, he couldn't get that moment out of his head. He didn't feel violated, nor embraced. Just....numbness. A knot started to develop, nasty thoughts filled his head.
"Maybe he's a pedophile"
"Or a rapist"
"Even a serial killer"
No...no he couldn't think of Smith that way.
Ethan would be no where without him.
Right after turning 16 in early spring, Johnson didn't hesitate to send Ethan the job.

Around 8 minutes later Ethan arrived at his cave of solitude. AKA, his office. There he was surrounded by his works. From birds in nests, to bats in damp caves. There he'd feel comfortable knowing that other people see what he sees. A world filled pain and suffering....still had beauty. Beauty that only those who would let go of worry and desire just to spectate that they aren't the only ones thriving. Even the smallest blade of grass was alive.
But something stopped his deep thoughts...it was a note.Again a flashback came.
"Its going to be ok...just stay...."normal"."

"Hes been waiting, Hon" said his secretary
Ethan mustered his courage and marched forth.
The door were hevy, dark oak colored with metallic handles. Pulling inwards he could see the boss sitting at his desk. Shutting the door behind him...he could only see the boss.
Mr.Smith sat with both forearms layed flat on the desk. His hands were folded together. And his head tilted downwards.
"Sit down"
He sounded rough.
"Y-yes, sir?"
Smith released his posture to place his hand on his head. Then began to rub up and down.
"About....yesterday" Ethan had never heard the Boss sound so awkward.
"I didn't mean to do what I did. But I did.
You see my boy, I had a rough day yesterday. And well...I did what anybody would do, I drank." The sound of regret jerked at Ethan. " I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, but you're only 16; and well kid...you've never been drunk. Or at least tipsy." That was the truth. Ethan has always been a pure child.
"So, I'm sorry. Forgive me."

"Its ok. I get it. Jenny gives me a kiss when Im sad, or when shes sad. She told me
"Sometimes Bunny, life will kick your ass. So you've gotta have a soft cushion to land on." Ethan always kept those words close to his heart.
"Then she said I was her cushion." finishing his sentence.
The boss cracked a smirk.
"Thanks, kid." he stood up...
"Come here." Then wrapped his arms around Ethans fragile body.
Ethan having his head on the bosses chest
"you've got a strong heart beat" then he pulled away.
Then suddenly his hand was jerked back.
Then again Ethan was pulled into Smith's arms.
"Just a little while longer, darling."
