You step, light cat feet against padded stairs.
Not leaving an sound.
You hold your phone in your hands, serving as your flashlight.
It bounces and shakes in your hands, and the shadows bounce and wiggle.
They twist and squirm and wriggle.
You start to run, feet bounding on the wood.
To turn and see the shadows dance, without a figure to take.
The shadows turn and watch you.
Your heart stops right then and there.
You run from the figures, terrified and frightened.
No clue, no guide, just instinct.
Telling you to run.
