Recap:

His eyes were brighter than ever, a sparkle in them. Just like Cecilia's. He was wearing a short sleeved button down black shirt with dark blue jeans and olive shoes. He looked handsome as fu-

Knock
Knock

I heard again. I took a silently deep breath and let it out quietly, I opened the door, a smile plastered on my face already.

"Brendon." I let out
—————————————————————

"Y/N! How are you?" Brendon says, giving me a tight hug. I wrap my arms around his neck, resting my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his strong arms around my waist and held me in a warm embrace. He lifted me off the ground a couple inches, making me giggle. I inhale his intoxicating cologne.

Oh god, all these emotions are just coming back to me.

"I've been great. How about you?" I say as Brendon places me back on the ground.

"Alright. I'm sorry I'm really early, I just couldn't wait." He says, picking up the two big gift bags he has.

Damn those muscles.

"It's alright. I was just decorating. Uh, you can help me. Come in!" I smile.

I was NOT mentally prepared for Brendon to be an HOUR early!

"Thanks!" He says, stepping in and closing the door behind him.

"Thank you for the gifts, I know Cecilia and Caleb will love them." I say, taking them from his hands.

"No problem. I honestly couldn't sleep last night because I was so...nervous and excited." He says, anxiously.

"I know..I'm really sorry that this was all so sudden." I say, putting a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" sign up.

"Here, let me help you." He says, taping it on the wall.

"Thanks.."

"With the kids..uh..It was really sudden and...when you called I wasn't expecting you to say that. I mean, we haven't talked in a couple years.." He says, taping another corner of the poster. I was still comprehending what was happening...I couldn't believe he was right there in front of me.

"I know..." I say. "But the kids are the best thing that's ever happened to me. They make me so happy, and...we're a family. They can't grow up and go through life without their father and..I told myself that I wasn't ready to have you back in the picture. But, I am now." I say, looking into his dark eyes.

"I'm ready too." He smiles.

We stand there grinning until we realize we still have to decorate and wrap the kids gifts. I lay out bubble wands and silly string for the kids to play with, along with bags of chips and other snacks. I have the cakes in the fridge from an L.A bakery. Brendon and I sit on the kitchen floor, wrapping the kids gifts in Batman and Minnie Mouse wrapping paper.

"Are they still sleeping?" Brendon asks after a while as he wraps a painting set for Cecilia in pink wrapping paper.

"Yeah, they should be up in about twenty minutes.." I smile at him while I wrap a remote controlled car for Caleb.
