Chapter 8

Alayna POV:

Me and Jake were outside with the Cullen's on their back patio talking about the Newborn Army. "What are Newborns?" Jake asked. "They're newly changed Vampires. In their first few months they have overpowered strength and stamina. But they don't know how to control it and use it." Jasper said. "If they're coming here then everyone in Forks and La Push are in Danger. I'm surprised the Volturi didn't take action yet." Carlisle said. "Great a new fight this should be good." Emmett said. I giggled at my older brother figure. Rosalie just smiled and punched his side a little. "Jake do you think the pack will fight along with us?" Carlisle asked. "Yes. If it's a threat to humans then yeah the pack will fight." Jake said and I nodded. "No Jake I don't want you and the pack to get hurt." Bella said stepping in. "This is what you wanted Bella for us to get along." Jake said rather harshly. I slapped his arm. "Edward Change me now. I can help you guys and protect myself." Bella said. Me and Jake looked at her shocked. "You want to change into them Bella?" Jake said basically insulting them. I looked at him hurt. And everyone who knew I was a hybrid glared at him and looked at me in sympathy.

'I'm a vampire too dumbass...' I thought in my head.

I saw Edward look at me with wide eyes.

'Keep quiet about it Cullen or else your head is mine.' I snarled at him in my head. He nodded. We both looked at Jake and Bella arguing. I sighed and stepped in. "Jake come on. We have to go talk to Sam and the pack." I said grabbing his arm and pulling him out through the house. "Thanks Alice Rosalie for the invite. It was fun." I said before shoving Jake out the front door. I hugged both of them. "No problem." Alice said. "Did you tell Jake about him being your imprint?" Rosalie asked. "Yeah He's trying to make it up to me now." I said walking out the door. I looked at Jake who was looking at me. I sighed and hugged him. "We can't change her mind. She's as stubborn as metal." I said.

'She's more then just stubborn.' I heard Athena say in our mind link. 'Pipe down Athena. Mind reader is still in the house.' I said back to her.

"Come on let's go." I said phasing and running off. Jake phased to and ran after me. I howled signaling the pack to meet at our usual meeting place. A few minutes after I howled a bunch of the pack voices in my head.

'Alayna, Jake what's wrong?' -Sam

'What happened?'-Seth

'Did Jake get some tonight?' -Quil and Embry

'What happened Jake, Alayna?' - Jared

'Black you are dead once I see you.' -Paul

'1. Paul back the fûck up. 2. Meeting place now and I'll explain. Where's Leah?'

'Right here. I'm already at the meeting place.' - Leah

Me and Jake arrived just as Quil and Embry arrived. Sam, Seth and Paul arrived.

'You little Bitch.' - Paul

Paul snarled and lunged at Jake. But I interfered and pushed Paul against a tree. I snarled at him for a warning.

'Try to Touch him again your arm is mine.'

Leah let out a wolf laugh so did Quil and Jared.

'Enough you too. Everyone phase back.' Sam said. I let go of Paul and phased back. So did he and the rest of the pack.

"So what's going on you two?" Sam asked in his alpha voice. I looked at Jake and sighed as he said nothing. "There is a newborn army coming to Forks. The Cullen's wants us to help because who knows what would happen. The worst thing that could happen is one slips through and attacks our imprints and the humans." I explained. Sam nodded in agreement. "I don't know about you guys but I'm helping them even if it means to leave the pack so be it." I said. That managed to get everyone's attention including Jakes who has been sulking ever since he found out what Bella wants to turn into. "What why?" Paul said. "Because the brothers there have been more of a brother to met then you have ever been. And they saved my life on more then one occasion. I'm in debt to them." I said. "We have to talk about that later Alayna. We are going to help the Cullen's." Sam said in his alpha voice. We all nodded and went our separate ways. Now it was just me and Paul with Jake waiting for me on the border line of the forest. "What do you mean the Cullen's have been a better then I am? I have always been there for Layna." He said tearing up. "Since when?" I tested him. He stopped and thought about it. "Yes I know you were there for me when we were younger but how about now? Ever since you got with Rachel you haven't been there for me at all." I explained.

Jake And Paul POV:

'That's what this is all about?'

Narrator POV:

"Layna Why didn't you tell me?" Paul asked. "A sister shouldn't have to need to tell her brother anything in order to know what's wrong. Once I found out Rachel was your imprint did I go off on her?!" Alayna asked him tearing up and voice raising. "N-no." Paul stuttered with realization. "Then What the hell makes you think you have the right to attack my imprint?!" She yelled at him. "I did nothing but be a good sister and let you have your happiness. How dare you try to take away mine..." she said finally breaking down. Tears fell from Paul's eyes too. Jake jumped down and hugged Alayna. "It's true what she says. She's been ranting off to me about how much better the Cullen's are then you at the whole brother situation." Jake said to Paul. Alayna got up and looked at Paul one last time. "Alayna I-" "I don't want to hear it." She said before running off and phasing. Jake followed her leaving Paul alone.
